16 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 1901: Hi Dr, What are you trying with this combo? |
16 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 1901: It was a random two-player nation assignment. I like creating situations I've never been in before, occasionally it presents interesting dynamics. More importantly, I have found that playing a number of 2-4 player combos on the classic map has improved my game. Some are duds, but there have been a few that have taught me more about identifying and racing to key positions to secure future stalemate lines, etc. |
16 Jun 15 UTC | Autumn, 1901: Well I hope I have assessed this correctly and your in trouble. Good luck |
16 Jun 15 UTC | Autumn, 1901: :) One may learn more from losing than from winning. Since my life is not at stake, I can live with that! |
17 Jun 15 UTC | Autumn, 1903: So Dr what country to you live in and what do you do for a living? If you don't mind me asking. I'm in Sydney Australia and run a bookshop. |
17 Jun 15 UTC | Autumn, 1903: Sweet gig! I've got more books than I'll ever read, and I read a lot :) I live in Bend, Oregon, in the U.S., on the flanks of Newberry Volcanic Monument. I just finished my third year at Oregon State University, though I'm not a typical college-aged student (42). Got a wife and two kids, daughter 16 and son 9. I play guitar in one band, bass in two others, and teach guitar, bass, and ukulele. I also work one 24-hour shift at a home for elderly folks with dementia and do some data mining. Somehow, I still find time to get all my Diplomacy orders in! |
17 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 1904: Last time I moved 46 boxes of books alone :/ that was 6 years ago so sigh it will be more next time. I'm 44 and my wife's an english teacher (yes thats why more books)and I have 2 boys 19 & 17. Can't imagine a 24 hour shift! That must be .... no lost for that. I do the odd 12hr |
17 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 1904: I'm supposed to sleep at night but I'm up with every sound, making sure no one's fallen or wandered off. I get maybe 3-5 broken hours. It's not ideal! |
18 Jun 15 UTC | Autumn, 1904: Yes I can understand that I've been a scout leader for 10 years and on long camps it would be midnight or later and wake up a dawn. Always some little snot who stayed up late and others who get up at dawn. |
18 Jun 15 UTC | Autumn, 1904: No kidding! |
18 Jun 15 UTC | Autumn, 1904: Oof...here comes the hurt. I'm playing one of these with Rancher, it's Austria and Italy. Full-on fight from the start. |
18 Jun 15 UTC | Autumn, 1904: Yeah but I'll get hurt a bit before it really crunches. Now I see the 34 SC's and keep going to nth Coast of Spain! |
18 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 1905: That's OK with me ;) |
19 Jun 15 UTC | Autumn, 1906: I'll just keep doing it then :@ |
19 Jun 15 UTC | Autumn, 1906: By all means! |
20 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 1909: I hear N. Spain is nice this time of year.... |
20 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 1909: I was there the kast two year and can't agree with that. I'll convoy albania there if you like :D |
20 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 1909: Good idea, let's do it. |
20 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 1909: One more year I'll be in position |
20 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 1909: I've got you right where I want you. |
