23 Feb 16 UTC | Spring, 1901: GameMaster: Please remember that negotiations before the game begins are not allowed. |
23 Feb 16 UTC | Spring, 1901: (zorclex): Huh. That's a pretty cool rule as far as two player games go. |
23 Feb 16 UTC | Spring, 1901: (zorclex): Oh shoot. Did I just get myself banned for talking? |
23 Feb 16 UTC | Spring, 1901: Info: This is a choose your country game. |
23 Feb 16 UTC | Spring, 1901: YOU CAN TRANSFORM THINGS INTO OTHER THINGS?!? |
23 Feb 16 UTC | Spring, 1901: Yeah, that's the way this one works. Pretty cool, right? |

27 Feb 16 UTC | Autumn, 1903: You know, I like this map. Dealing with the geography of a given map is fun, but ultimately Diplomacy is about skill, not the luck of where you start. |
01 Mar 16 UTC | Autumn, 1905: true enough. I'm apprehensive about this map because I'm not sure I know it well enough to trust my logistic strategy skills. However, I do think much of the reason I like diplomacy as a game is what it takes for *diplomatic* skill.... which is sort of lacking in a two-player game. It's not like I have anyone else to attack. I guess I could propose a peace treaty... want to DMZ somewhere? Ally against grey? |
02 Mar 16 UTC | Spring, 1906: btw check your e-mail regarding a sweet diplomacy variant I want to try. |
03 Mar 16 UTC | Spring, 1906: Yeah, that is a major downside to two player variants. But sometimes there's no communication anyway. It always sucks when you play in a big game and no one says anything. |
03 Mar 16 UTC | Spring, 1906: True story. I like the *diplomacy* element best, even if a strictly gunboat game is also fun. |
03 Mar 16 UTC | Autumn, 1906: Well, there are arguments that gunboat has a lot of diplomacy in it too. |
03 Mar 16 UTC | Autumn, 1906: I believe that too, but that's a different kind of diplomacy.... nonverbal, spatial logistics, etc. I like that kind as well, but it's ...not the same to me? I guess? |
05 Mar 16 UTC | Autumn, 1906: No, it really isn't the same. I prefer normal press rules, with a lot of talkative players. I like being Palpatine:) |
05 Mar 16 UTC | Spring, 1907: haha yeah it's a lot of fun |
05 Mar 16 UTC | Spring, 1907: so... what happens when we stalemate on this map? |
07 Mar 16 UTC | Spring, 1907: We just... don't? I don't know. That's a good question. |
08 Mar 16 UTC | Autumn, 1907: I believe the appropriate term to use at this juncture is one I don't know and am not allowed to say. |
09 Mar 16 UTC | Autumn, 1907: I'm going to be gone over the weekend, so could we pause soon? Or extend? Either would work. |
