19 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: I am having trouble telling who is who because of lack of colors! |
19 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: Eccl - what lack of colour? |
19 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: oh dear - what have I sign up for? -sorry all I'll need to study the map for a wee bit before writing to you all. -Eccl |
19 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: [Wettin] - Lack of color I meant that in the chat the messages don't show the color or name of the country, good idea to just state who you are! |
19 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: (Palatinate Wittelsbach) yes that happens to some people. I don't know why but it is a pain. |
19 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: [Wettin] to Pal-Wit, what color are you on the map? |
19 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: (Palatinate Wittelsbach) also, quick question. how do we get cavalry? do we just build them like we would build any other units or do we only get one? |
19 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: You build them like any other unit but the first phase everyone Starts with infantry only. You can build them next turn if you get new Builds |
20 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: (Pal-Wit) okay thanks S-H. And to Wettin I'm that ugly orange colour. |
20 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: ah, that is ugly |
20 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: (Eccl) - Sorry I to everyone who has written - I will write back soon; As it turns out I have been studying the map all day thinking I was Hohenzollern - go figure. I'll get onto the blower soon. |
20 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: (Pal-Wit) yea, I thought I was S-H for a while. This map looks really complicated. Even without the whole cavalry thing. And everyone (okay most people) start out really spread out, which is weird. Also, I've never actually played this particular version before, though I've played most of the other ones. Does anyone wanna give me any tips before we start? |
20 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: Eccl - seconded tips and concepts would be most welcome - I am getting a migraine from examining at what looks like from a distance a bit of a dog's breakfast... |
20 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: (Pal-Wit) I've noticed if I blow up the map (the 2 squares with the arrow at the bottom of the map) it goes a lot smother. Especially on crazy maps like this one. |
20 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: true - but it still looks rather complicated - especially with the large place names. |
20 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: Definitely study the expanded map. And blame Tadar Es Darden / German history for the map. |
20 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: the blame has been apportioned appropriately! |
22 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: (Eccl) - Is anyone else playing this variant for the first time? |
22 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1648: I know Pal-Witt hasn't - I'm simply excited to seem what sort of craziness happens on the first season... |
22 Jan 11 UTC | Autumn, 1648: The County of Isenberg isn't adjacent to Frankfurt am Main #7. |
