03 Apr 17 UTC | Spring, 1835: (DiplomatDan): Hello everyone! Let's hope that this game fills up in time - according to the statistics, it'd be the first WTA game on this map in the history of this website. Pretty neat. |
03 Apr 17 UTC | Spring, 1835: (Shah): Should we advertise it? |
03 Apr 17 UTC | Spring, 1835: (DiplomatDan): As long as we stay within the boundaries of metacommunication etc., feel free to do so. |
15 Apr 17 UTC | Autumn, 1836: I'm sorry folks, but I'm in the provinces of rural Asia now and its going to be hard to get to wife daily for the next 2 or 3 days... can I please ask for an extension? Sorry :-) |
15 Apr 17 UTC | Autumn, 1836: GameMaster: Bolivia voted for a Extend. If 2/3 of the active players vote Extend the the current phase will be extend by 4 days. Please consider backing this. If the majority is not reached by "Autumn, 1837" the votes will be cleared. |
15 Apr 17 UTC | Spring, 1837: GameMaster: Per 2/3 majority vote the gamephase got extended by 4 days. (Voters: Colombia / Argentina / Bolivia / Brazil / Paraguay / Venezuela) |
15 Apr 17 UTC | Spring, 1837: GameMaster: Peru voted for a Extend. If 2/3 of the active players vote Extend the the current phase will be extend by 4 days. Please consider backing this. If the majority is not reached by "Spring, 1838" the votes will be cleared. |

04 May 17 UTC | Autumn, 1839: I feel like with a few tweaks this map could be significantly improved. Starting with build anywhere---that really screws over the smaller powers. |
04 May 17 UTC | Autumn, 1839: Amen. |
04 May 17 UTC | Autumn, 1839: Completely agree. |
04 May 17 UTC | Autumn, 1839: build anywhere, more options for venezuela and paraguay, and maybe just have all powers begin with the same number of centers to begin with |
04 May 17 UTC | Autumn, 1839: but we didnt have any new maps on vdip for quite a while so i dont expect any tweaks either |
04 May 17 UTC | Autumn, 1839: Agree Venezuela, perhaps opening up the Guyana territories as additional centers, but each power should start with at least 3. I know the lab is open again, so maybe some new features are possible. |
04 May 17 UTC | Autumn, 1839: I think it would make for an interesting dynamic if the Guyana territories were actually a playable power, rather than Venezuela (Though you would then probably have to move the border of G.d. Paria slighty East.) I think a more fairly distribution of starting SC's would also be good - yet Brazil definitely needs more starting SC's than the average power considering it's geographical positioning. (or you'd have to move Brazil's home SC's.) |
04 May 17 UTC | Autumn, 1839: Its my first time on this map and I have to say that having only 2 starting centres but 5 starting neighbours means my work is certainly cut out for me as Bolivia. |
23 May 17 UTC | Autumn, 1843: I wont ever be playing this map again. The two contenders for the win were obvious from the very start and no-one else has any realistic chance of winning. But as usual, its more about promises not kept... |
23 May 17 UTC | Autumn, 1843: are you serious? :) considering that your policy contributed quite a bit to the elimination of the small nations and the rise of the ones, who are already starting strongest. even recognizing peru was a disappointment, you cant really wiggle out of eating a piece of the responsibility-cake. Both, Argentina and colombia have a real shot at a solo. So any promises given are worthless. But hey, if they fail, you'll probably end up in the draw ^^ |
23 May 17 UTC | Autumn, 1843: A draw was the best I could ever hope for given my starting position. Sorry that I didn't pile into one of the bigger powers on my border but had I done so, the other would have piled into me from my rear. I played the safest possible path and that's why I'm the only remaining of the small nations. Argentina and Colombia both have a chance to solo but that was always going to be the case and that's my point. |
23 May 17 UTC | Autumn, 1843: it's not what always happens on this map. i have managed to win with a small nation here in the past in a game filled not with noobs. but who was your first target? chile. had you helped him against argentina, you would have weakened one of the bigger powers, gained territories there, and in the best case left chile weake enough so you can beat him down if necessary. Peru was admittedly uncommunicative, to eceptional detriment of venezuela. but he was keeping colombia busy. paraguay was a bit kless free to help out, but i assume, he would have stayed more loyal. and brazil had at some point more to fear from the biggies, and would have been willing to work with you guys. things might have gone wrong at any point, of course. well.... shit happens I know, this map is imba as shit. Not as bad as Imperial II, but the small ones shot themselves by genuinely aligning with the great powers. |
