24 Aug 17 UTC Congratulations YCHTT!

Quite disappointed by the poor judgment call by both Turkey and especially France (to go after me while it was clear I wasn't the major threat on the map).

For some reason there were more aggressive moves in my direction after my 2nd victory in this tournament. I hope this was a case of coincidence rather than questionable integrity ;-)
24 Aug 17 UTC Great game, Germany and France. Shaky balance for such a long time. Really enjoyed this one, congrats YCHTT
24 Aug 17 UTC I wasn't in the game long enough to have an opinion.... ;-)
24 Aug 17 UTC I swear I was too lazy to check on who was who. Not that I made any moves anywhere.
24 Aug 17 UTC I was after you long before I had realized it was you. So for my part, it was coincidence. I played nice with England all game so I could stab him in the end for the solo then screwed up a move and had to get 18 off of Italy.
24 Aug 17 UTC And thank you all for such a challenging and enjoyable game.
24 Aug 17 UTC Well done Germany. You certainly blatted Russia quickly, which made it difficult for me.
24 Aug 17 UTC Well played Germany.
For me this was a challenging game, standing alone against a solid EG alliance makes progress virtually impossible. When Austria and Russia were gone I figured that Turkey, Italy and Germany must all be having a great game so I tried to communicate by leaving myself vulnerable to E and head into the Med. I was hoping he'd understand what I was trying to do and see my point. Not long after Italy parked a fleet in North Africa. I figured that was a sign of strength, so I assumed that he was the one close to solo, so I attacked. When I then saw Germany take Trieste (and later Venice from me) I realized who was the true winner. But how to communicate that to England? Kind of frustrating, but I guess that's gunboat FoW for you...

And Bob, I very much disagree with your analysis. It was far from clear to me that you were in bad shape. The moment I realized it I backed off... my attack on you had nothing to do with your earlier wins, in fact I haven't even analyzed who's who (even though I realize that's easily deduced - I just think it's more fun to play each game as a separate game, so that's what I do)
24 Aug 17 UTC @France

It is by no means my interest to actively accuse other players of using the prior knowledge of the tournament to decide on their enemies in later games. Yet, for me it was a combination of things:

First of all the mention by YCHTT that he was taking it to my Italy in Game 6 in the Variant Forum thread. Whilst he rightfully apologized and those apologies were accepted, it meant that a small effort to figure out who i could be in this game was not even necessary anymore. (It is correct that YCHTT was already on me before that message, thus for himself it didn't change anything).

Second of all it was around the phases where i respectively destroyed both an unit on my West end (North Africa) and East end (Greece). It was my only way to showcase that i was getting beaten by a much greater power, yet unfortunately neither of you acted upon that warning (which i found rather surprising) but rather went in to grab more italian sc's for yourself.

Most importantly, absolutely not trying to be a sore loser here. Very well deserved victory for YCHTT. I was in the position with the best overview of what was going down and apparently wasn't able to make that clear enough to my neighbours. That's a bummer ;-)
24 Aug 17 UTC What allowed me to reach the goal was England on France more than anything else. For a while, I was concerned England was as big as me and might be ovettaking me until I saw the French units in and out of Burgundy, then I knew he was still alive which meant I still had the lead.
24 Aug 17 UTC Just out of curiosity: am i the only one who knows you can see the order of sizes of empires in fog of war? You can't see how big an empire ia, but you can see the order of largest to smallest.
24 Aug 17 UTC I didn't realize that. I am smarter now than I was 5 minutes ago.
24 Aug 17 UTC Hahaha. Well you can see it on your home page. The order of colours from left to right showcases the biggest to smallest empires. I figured this out myself during one of my first FoW games here as i noticed the order of colours changing in some phases. This didn't happen in other (non-FoW) games, thus i figured it had to mean something.
24 Aug 17 UTC I assumed it to be general knowledge. Definitely of experienced players as the people in this game. Yet, now that I knew that Germany was the largest empire in this game for a long time I doubt France or Turkey would've attacked me if they had the same knowledge.
24 Aug 17 UTC Um, no, you can't. They appear in alphabetical order until the game ends.
24 Aug 17 UTC Go look at game 2 or 7 to see.
24 Aug 17 UTC OH! Interesting. Should be fixed.
24 Aug 17 UTC It only works in the 'My games' tab on your home page, not if you actually open the game itself.

I actually considered it a great addition to FoW games. It gives you a little bit of information of game dynamics making it a little bit feasible that some empires group together to prevent a solo. Then again, it's also tricky because one empire might continuously be the largest but perhaps he/she is only 1 sc ahead of number 2. Those are the things that cannot be read ;-)
24 Aug 17 UTC None of that should be given away, especially as the bar size doesn't vary, just the order of the colors. This should be reported to Oli as a bug for Fog.
