09 Oct 17 UTC GG everyone. I thought you guys might be going for Italy's elimination (I think you could've done it without handing me the solo) but this is fine as well. Germany looks strong and will keep on pushing me back and pretty soon I would have to deal with Russia's armies in India, so a solo is not really a possibility.

Well done everyone! If I had gotten my fleets mobilized from Africa a little faster towards Japan, perhaps the solo would've succeeded. I pretty much had to fight all my neighbors from the beginning (although I offered some alliances; Italy was the only one to really cooperate) so I guess you kind of forced me into this :D
09 Oct 17 UTC I guess someone might consider my draw vote a bit lazy, but I don't have that much time for Diplo nowadays, so I'm kinda glad to see some games end :/
09 Oct 17 UTC Gg, though I am really glad this game is finally finished. Here's my two cents:

This game started off terribly for me. China and I obviously clashed immediately yet and i wasn't able to rebuild anything with him, meaning Japan got a great start on the coast line as i wasn't able to defend against both China and Japan.

My Western front was a major mess as well. Germany barged into Warsaw and Moscow and Britain had grabbed St. Petersburg. It looked extremely grim though I was able to push Germany out who soon realised that Britain was a communal threat. I have to say I am quite grateful for having been neighbours with King_Ant as he made a good judgment call on when to leave my front and focus on the other side of his empire. From that moment onwards Germany has been a great partner and an ally who could very well read the game dynamics.

Italy.. on the other hand.. has been able to drive me completely nuts. First of all I helped him get to Con and Smyrna (practically defeating Turkey). All I desired was one of the SC's (in this case Agora) which seems a fair deal considering i provided that support. I was very much willing to invest in an alliance with Italy as he was going to play an important role in curbing Britain. Yet, Italy played completely for himself and didn't grant me anything. In that moment i decided to roll over him in the Turkish lands so i could pave myself a way towards the Med and Ionian sea. I found myself in a great dilemma as I really didn't see how I could work with this guy (as he didn't understand anything i was doing) while at the same time i needed to keep him strong as long as possible so he could fend off Britain in Africa. Yet, at some point i got so annoyed with his lack of understanding what he had to do against Britain (for example a move from Sicily to Tunis supported by me), that i was preparing for a possible quick annihilation of Italy together with Germany so that the two of us could take up the defence against Britain together. I guess Germany read the game in the same manner as he made a move for Venice in the final turn.

Also my apologies to China that I went in for the kill. China and Japan kept on fighting while I wanted them to focus on India. China was the weak one out so I thought i'd step in, kill China together with Japan so that we would have a workable front against Britain forces in India. Japan is the only player who has not put his draw vote out till the end, so i assumed that he was waiting for China to be eliminated.

Conclusively, never thought i could crawl back from my horrible start. Yet, once the game progress I found myself in a position where I was trying to manage and coordinate the campaign against Britain on all fronts. I'm glad Germany was a very agreeable partner, because without him i would've already given up earlier.

Also my apologies if I sound so harsh, Italy, yet it was just really frustrating that it took so long for you to realise I wasn't going to do you any more harm and you weren't able to read some of my very logical moves to support you.

I guess that's about it ;-)
09 Oct 17 UTC Also, thank you Abadu for putting the draw vote in. I think we would've managed to prevent your solo regardless, yet i'm simply glad to be done with this game. Though in the end I don't think Italy deserves to be part of the draw.
09 Oct 17 UTC *also my apologies for some grammatical errors and awkward sentences in the story above, i just quickly noted my perspective down ;-)
10 Oct 17 UTC I think I would have been able to do better had I been the original China and not taken over a CD. As it was, I was barely able to put up a good fight.

Russia, I didn't see an urgent need to fight England in India. Japan was the bigger issue. I think if you hadn't attacked me, Italy would have eventually been eliminated, and then we could have drawn.

Or you could have had a four-way draw without me. I get uneasy speculating on what could have been in gunboat.

Anyway, good game.
10 Oct 17 UTC I don't know whether Japan was waiting for an elimination in general or the elimination of you specifically, I went with the latter ;-)
10 Oct 17 UTC I was not my intention to make a draw now, i only push the draw button because i want to go in clear opposition to Britain. I was sure that Britain would try to make a solo and do not draw now ;-). I was very surprised to see that Britain has drawn too ...
