20 Sep 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: GameMaster: Please remember that negotiations before the game begins are not allowed. |
20 Sep 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: Info: This is a choose your country game. |
20 Sep 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: Good luck! |
20 Sep 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: You too! |
20 Sep 17 UTC | GameMaster: Austria voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has. |
20 Sep 17 UTC | Well done. I couldn't hold on to any of those three centres. I should have had some more units at the front I think. Nice save! |
20 Sep 17 UTC | Thank you, this was hard-fought. I agree with your assessment about what went wrong. Tunisia, Berlin and Munich seem like the decisive centers. From limited recent experience with this format, whoever wins Germany wins the game. |
20 Sep 17 UTC | Will you vote Draw? I think we are stuck at 17 each. |
20 Sep 17 UTC | I hate to be the bearer of bad news for you, but we are not. I am going to capture the remaining centers on my side of the line and build only fleets. I will continue holding my side of the line until I can move the newly-built fleets into Gulf of Bothnia and Barents Sea, whereupon I will be able to order the following moves: F Barents -> St. Petersburg F Sweden -> Finland F Gulf of Bothnia S F Sweden -> Finland F Norway -> St. Petersburg F Barents Sea S F Norway -> St. Petersburg F Finland S F Norway -> St. Petersburg F Gulf of Bothnia S F Norway -> St. Petersburg Unless I misorder, no aspect of this sequence should be stoppable from your side. I didn't want to mention it earlier because I felt it unsporting (as it's your responsibility to yourself, if you're playing to win, to make me execute all these moves without error), but I want to avoid the appearance of unnecessarily prolonging a stalled game, so I'm explaining it now. |
20 Sep 17 UTC | Oh yeah, I forgot about StP. |
20 Sep 17 UTC | GameMaster: Austria voted for a Concede. If everyone (but one) votes Concede the game will end and the player _not_ voting Conceede will get all the points. Everybody else will get a defeat. |
20 Sep 17 UTC | kaner406 (Moderator): game uncrashed. Not sure why it did this. |
20 Sep 17 UTC | This game is not a draw. |
20 Sep 17 UTC | Thanks! But it should be a win to France. :( |
20 Sep 17 UTC | I'll drop a line to the mods. |
20 Sep 17 UTC | kaner406 (Moderator): I've drawn this game because for some reason it was triggering an error message after I unchrashed it - not sure why the concede button wasn't working, but I'll bring this to Oli's attention because he's doing some behind the scene work updating the code. |
20 Sep 17 UTC | It crashed when I conceded, so it should be a French win. I've been in a game before that crashed when a concede happened. Can I be re-opened and I will lose in a more elegant way? |
20 Sep 17 UTC | Ahh ok. Sorry for my terse response. Hope everything is ok with the code. Thanks for the very quick response and for digging into it further :) |
20 Sep 17 UTC | I do not mind the end result on the site being a draw, if that would save some moderator work. It's clear enough from chat what was supposed to happen, and I'm sure Devonian will be able to accommodate the circumstances. |
20 Sep 17 UTC | For history's sake... I hereby notify. FRANCE WINS! FRANCE WINS! :-) Yeah, it could be a pain for the mods to re-open it. If you're OK with it, then we can let it rest. |
