14 Apr 18 UTC | [China]:Very disappointing. I could see for ages that Russia was massively exposed but what could I do? I just hoped Byzantium would have mercy and allow a 3 way. I couldn’t see anyway to prevent it. Attacking earlier would have made everything a mess. Maybe I should have let Axum remain but I’m not sure that would have helped or even been possible. I was hoping Russia would see the danger and build some safety units at home. Ah well (4th game in a row I have been 2nd biggest and lost to a solo due to inability to coordinate the rest - frustrating). Well played battalion. I can’t blame you... well maybe a bit |
15 Apr 18 UTC | [Byzantinum]:I was very much torn - as you say, the Russia had left me the opportunity for a solo, but after such a long game it seemed like a shame to end it that way. I had just about settled on eliminating Egypt and Axum for the draw when China and Russia both made a move on Africa. I understood that China was concerned about my chances of taking Russia, but I didn't understand what Russia was attempting - if they were playing for the draw the sensible move would have been to shore up their defences. This didn't sit well with me, and it was that round that I decided to go for the solo. Would you have done differently in my situation, Graham? I don't really know what the etiquette is (if there is one) and always struggle to know what to do in these situations. Thanks everyone for the game. |
15 Apr 18 UTC | [China]:Yeah. No worries. I was torn whether to enter Africa for exactly those reasons but I assumed you would understand. Perhaps Russia was trying something similar but certainly keeping those units at home was much better and we would have the 3 way. (I would have probably taken the win too) |
15 Apr 18 UTC | [Denmark]:I am glad that German was wiped out too. He stabbed upon crucial moment during my battle with Russia and made me lost. Great game, Battalion. |
