10 Mar 20 UTC | Spring, 2022: GameMaster: Morocco voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has. |
11 Mar 20 UTC | So I am denied a solo again as you were quick to see the danger and unite. Got more SCs (27 vs 22) than I did in the last game when I was Morocco. I tried to keep an ally this time (Ethiopia) but once he had spread across Africa to Kasai I had no room to expand (as DRC put up an excellent defence of the Atlantic) so I had to stab him. Looking at the stats for this variant Morocco and Madagascar have a ridiculous advantage over the others and I have played both so far. I'll probably get one of the other countries next and that is the end of my glory days! Thanks for the game all. |
11 Mar 20 UTC | Thanks to all. Gg |
11 Mar 20 UTC | GG! |
11 Mar 20 UTC | I agree with Joe1966, Morocco & Madagascar have a huge advantage over the others in this variant. I have played this twice now & got Egypt on both occassions and lost both times. If the other players are of any standing, Egypt has to lose. It cannot gain dominance anywhere, unless big mistakes are made by others. Anyway, good game and I do enjoy this variant despite its design flaws. |
11 Mar 20 UTC | Wow, I'm surprised you guys included me in on the draw |
11 Mar 20 UTC | 2014-2019 was fun DRC. That was a pretty epic battle for central Africa |
11 Mar 20 UTC | I can't blame you for stabbing me, Madagascar. You had a massive advantage. If Morocco hadn't preserved me I'd be dead already |
11 Mar 20 UTC | I find that South Africa can be quite strong when allied with Madagascar, but otherwise, I agree that Madagascar and Morocco are by far more powerful than the other nations. |
11 Mar 20 UTC | Morocco has too many supply centers in that corner with very little to no competition for them. Once taken, they can set up a solid line to advance with. It's hard for Ethiopia to rationalize pushing across the ocean to take Madagascar centers over just taking centers inland. So this usually leaves Madagascar free to be able to focus all units on attacking South Africa, who is usually already having to fight DRC. |
11 Mar 20 UTC | Yeah, plus, DRC attacked me very early on. I don't think I could have sent anything against Madagascar at the beginning and survived. If I had done that, Madagascar would have been mad and attacked me and DRC would have just crushed me |
11 Mar 20 UTC | After the first year, there was 5 neutral scs just sitting there right next to me. So of course I went for that instead of letting DRC have it all and vainly attempting to fight Madagascar |
11 Mar 20 UTC | Are we having another game of More Coffee and More...? |
11 Mar 20 UTC | Sure. I have to play with all the countries available! I haven't repited yet. LOL |
11 Mar 20 UTC | Done. Game ID 41478 |
12 Mar 20 UTC | Always a sign of a balanced variant when one power has 25 solos and another has 5. |
12 Mar 20 UTC | OK I am in. Probably get Egypt this time to balance things up! |
12 Mar 20 UTC | If everybody agrees we can arrange a home rule for that new game ID 41478, and write there, now that public chat is allowed: Canary Island is IMPASSABLE as Switzerland in classic. What do you think? |
12 Mar 20 UTC | It's easy to handle and balances the game just a bit with few effect in moves. |
12 Mar 20 UTC | OK by me |
