Would hate to scrap this tourney, but would if we think we can get some more reliable players. We should realistically be ready to spend 1-1.5 years on this tournament. Which I am totally fine with.

- I have sent out "last chance" PMs to the two players who have yet to join or PM me.

- I have sent out PMs to the 5 players who expressed interest in joining as a replacement. Those who reply promptly will fill spots in the order in which they volunteered.

Over the next few days I will be working to resolve this and get the games going. At least one spot (kaner's) will be filled. The two holdouts will be resolved one way or the other. That leaves the issue of two players who have each joined only one game. I have PMed one (I think it's an oversight, why join game 8 and not 7?). The other is Amby, as identified above.

Amby, the 2-game-at-a-time limit was agreed upon to accommodate you. I understand that more than 2 games in which you've got dozens of orders to enter might be too taxing on your available time, but I'd like to focus on the spirit of the law, not the letter. It would take some time for any game starting soon to become burdensome in terms of entering a lot of orders. If we've got to wait until there are *literally* only two games running, regardless of stage and time required, then players are not going to stick around for games 9 & 10. We started this with the agreement that we'd play 2 at a time, and I'm not going to force a change to that. I'm just hoping you'll go with the spirit of moving this along whenever you are able to do so.

For those of us continuing:

PLEASE ASSESS your WILLINGNESS and ABILITY to play the remaining 9 games with minimal delays. If you can't prioritize readying orders for these games, particularly during retreats and builds, then please be considerate and drop out.

Additionally we need a replacement for Kaner, and an explanation from Amby why he's only signed up for game 7, but not 8. We agreed to play two games at a time. Games 5 and 6 are no press contests in the late stages with very little necessary thought each season. We apparently also need to come to an agreement about readying up orders, specifically retreats and disbands. Nothing has changed in recent days and weeks with regard to this. If this is not resolved by the end of the week, I am in favor of stopping the event, and starting over with new players committed to completing a KW901 tournament.

Just to note that Dr. Rec is by definition in all waiting games, 7-15, due to having created them, so having them on the 'waiting confirmation' list, while technically accurate, is also trivially unnecessary.

Also utterly disagree that, just because games are in late stages, there is very little necessary thought. In fact, there's (arguably) significantly more time required to deal with a large number of orders in themself, before you even get to needing to think about the increased number of tactical decisions involved.

It's not trivially unnecessary at all. Players have signed up and withdrawn from these games already. Therefore in attempting to ascertain the present sign up status, it's necessary to see who is not signed up. I am simply asking Doc to confirm that he's ready to go, without assuming that he is. Doc created games 9,01, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 too, but he may not be ready to start them. Thanks for the snarky bullshit though.

Utterly disagree all you want. I'm not seeking your fucking explanation about starting game 8. How about shutting the fuck up if you're not going to help get this going? There is not significantly more time needed to complete games 5 and 6. A majority of the units on the map are not moving, and issuing repetitive orders. I'm not suggesting speed chess to finish them up either. I'm suggesting we stop waiting two fucking days for a retreat with no option other than to disband. Finally when I agreed to play in this event it was based on conditions that are not being met. That's why I'm asking Amby, not mouse, why he's not ready for game #8. This event began before all the other tournaments, and for those who rushed off to join every one of them now claiming gaming overload, I say too bad. Drop one of those contests or drop this event.

My post @ 48 hours ago should serve as an indication that things are progressing. I've got replacements lined up and feel I've given sufficient time and notice on that front to proceed, and I will finalize roster going forward and enable replacements to join games as soon as I get home within a few hours.

I expect 7 to be full within 24 hours, and 8 after that as once as Amby joins. Samj is taking kaner's position. I will know soon whether ScubaSteve will continue - if he does not, YCHTT will take his position. Everyone else is confirmed in the games.

OK, for the record we agreed to a 2 game limit. I am still in one of those games. I would disagree with perspective that as things in both games are "advanced" not so much time is needed. In fact when you have to order 20+ units around, that plus the strategies needed for those moves, I'd think more time would be needed.

That said, and without giving away details the one game that I'm still in, I am not one of those 20+ players and it doesn't take me long to enter orders.

So as a matter of good faith - and not any requirement - I'll sign up now for Game 8.
