Fresh account up for grabs
Hi everyone. So a friend of mine tried to get me into vdip a few weeks ago, but unfortunately though I'm not going to be able to keep playing for personal reasons. I am in 1 Haven game, they have already had a couple of player disappear so I'm really just trying to do my best to not leave them in the lurch. 1066 variant description
I just barely hung on till the end as England in my very first game of 1066, based on the fact that
a) I didn't know what the norwegian army units looked like
b) I didn't understand whatsoever from the description that Hadriens wall actually has a moveable norwegian unit on it.

team-diplomacy!
i just came up with this variant: you play as 1 country with 2 players, either switching turns (autumn and fall i guess, otherwise someone could get only retreats and builds for example, on the other side, now the builds are for one dude...) or both players have to save and ready the same orders, being able to see the ones of the other and maybe a simple agree button to prevent mistakes... is this possible and/or a good idea?

it's 14 players(since somebody spoke of the fact we do not have one)...
It is the classic map, only with a couple minor changes...
Ruhr and North Africa are supply centers...
the powers are as follows:
France(the usual French lands)
Germany(the usual German lands minus Ruhr)
England(the usual English lands)
Italy(the usual Italian lands)
Austria(the usual Austrian lands)
Turkey(the usual Turkish lands)
Scandinavia(Norway, Sweden, Denmark)
Mother Russia(Moscow, Warsaw, St. P)
East Balkans(Bulgaria, Rumania, Sevastopol)
West Balkans(Greece, Serbia, Tunis)
Iberian(Spain, Portugal, North Africa{new supply center})
Lowlands(Belgium, Holland, Ruhr{new supply center})

So, first, an exact layout would be needed... as stated, France, England, Italy, Turkey, and Austria all look exactly the same... Sevastopol and Ukraine are now part of Eastern Balkans instead of Russia... Finland is part of Scandinavia... Ruhr(new SC) is now part of Lowlands instead of Germany... Albania is part of Western Balkans...

For starting units:
England- classic starting units
France- classic starting units
Germany- classic starting units
Austria- classic starting units
Italy- classic starting units
Turkey- classic starting units
Russia- A- Moscow, A- Warsaw, F- St. P South Coast(classic starting without of course Sevastopol)
East Balkans- F- Sevastopol, A- Bulgaria, A- Rumania
West Balkans- F- Tunis, A- Serbia, A- Greece
Lowlands- F- Belgium, A- Holland, A- Ruhr
Scandinavia, F- Norway, A- Sweden, A- Denmark
Iberian- F- North Africa, F- Portugal, A- Spain

yep, it's supposed to be a lot like crowded... that's the point... and now I went back to the drawing board and fixed it so now there is this one AND a 14 player map...

...but why? We have standard, crowded, and chaos. Do we need extra-crowded and doubleplus-crowded too?

If it's an issue of number of players, we have Crowded (11), American Empire (10), Fantasy World (12), 901 (15), Modern (10), Rinascimento (12), War 2020 (10), and World (17). Do we need a variant for the sake of having a 14 player game?

We really don't need a new crowded game, if we want a 14 player game, think of something creative that would require 14 player, not changing the classic map so theres 14 teams

New setting idea (see below)
You know how recently a turn limit was added to game (as in a game ends after x years). What if there was an elimination limit?
As in after x players were eliminated the game ends. Thoughts? While this wouldn't work on smaller maps, for the larger maps this could add an interesting pin on the play.
