27 Sep 13 UTC wow, ddnt expect that to work. good game all
27 Sep 13 UTC It helps when Germany is an idiot.
27 Sep 13 UTC But great job taking advantage of it. Congrats.
27 Sep 13 UTC Hey. In the latter stages, you took Belgium from me. I was battling England in Scandinavia.
27 Sep 13 UTC You mean took it back?
27 Sep 13 UTC It helps also when Italy's only goal in the game is having Trieste, no matter what's happening around. Results:
Turkey: +140 (GG & congrats)
All the others: -20

Thanks Italy.
28 Sep 13 UTC Where is it written that Germany is an idiot for taking Belgium? It happens in at least half of the games, even more in gunboat.
In the latter stages, when it was clear that Turkey would go for the win, I did not attack you, so we're at least even. In the end, it did nothing whatsoever to change the result, so I fail to see the point to mention it.
28 Sep 13 UTC Dig deep there Guaroz. Would you like a suggestion on where to put your sour grapes? I took Trieste for good when Turkey was at 7. Blame me for your elimination if you wish, otherwise find someone else to bitch at.
28 Sep 13 UTC i mean, if germany and england had settled their differences earlier, i probably would have been forced into a draw. the continued fightingr helped me get into berlin
28 Sep 13 UTC That's probably true. But, such is hard to do in gunboat.
28 Sep 13 UTC it is. it would have required quite a leap of faith

28 Sep 13 UTC Italy, unless this is the first time you play a Gunboat on a Classic map, you should know that once Turkey gets out his corner it's almost impossible to stop.
Now taking Trieste in 1901 in Gunboat it's rather risky, but not totally meaningless. I myself did it a couple of times (and lost both). The nearest risk is that France attacks you (and so he did in Spring 1902) making you fight on 2 fronts, the second risk is that Austria can't stop whatever comes from East having to fight Italy.
Now things didn't go so bad for you. First because of my big mistake in Autumn 1902, moving to Greece and letting you retreat to Serbia. Second, because there wasn't a Juggernaut and Turkey didn't make big progresses against Russia (yet), so no big dangers from East, atm. Third because in Spring 1903, after England tried for Brest, France moved North and you made peace with him. Wise decision, well played. "Good player this Italy", I thought.
Now, you surely noticed that in Autumn 1903 Turkey broke his truce with me and took Greece. Any mid-skilled gunboater would have wondered why and the answer is that Russia was done. The answer to the second obvious question "Who will stop Turkey now?" you could have wondered was "Austria and I" and not "That lonely english guy in Moscow".

I was confident that the smart guy in Italy would have read the situation correctly. He switched alliances when England attacked France, so why shouldn't he do the same now that Turkey is so mach more dangerous for him than England? So I counter-attacked Turkey and withdrew from Adriatic. Surprise! Italy hasn't moved Ionian to Aegean or EastMed... but he moved it to Adr!
I didn't worry that much. Even the best players sometimes miss some easy thing. And after all... hey! the next map (Spring 1904) is even more clear! Turkey's getting out his corner and only he and I can stop him! This time Italy can't miss it!

Autumn 1904. Italy throws everything he can towards Trieste (again). Game over.
(for everybody, not just for me. It was just a matter of time)

Dr. Recommended, sorry I sounded "sour". I apologize.
Since you don't like it, I promise I won't be sarcastic with you anymore.
Peace? :)

Just, if I may be so bold, let me make you notice that I addressed my sarcasm to Italy, not to Dr.Recommended. I understand if it doesn't make any difference to you. But please know that to us, old players used to roleplay, it still makes quite a bit. We don't use the Nick-name and the Country-name indifferently, as if they were the same thing.
Also, you being not appreciating this difference does not completely explain your disproportionate response to my sarcasm.
