20 May 11 UTC Spring, 1065: Dear friends, thank you for joining. I never played it before. I guess it is fog of war, where you can only see the areas adjacent to your units. Should be interesting... Long phases allow us to take as long as we want, so no pressure to play if we get busy. But obviously the earlier the finalize the better.

I had never played fog and I had never played public message only, so I foolishly joined a game with both. I think it turned me off of both variants. At least for a while
