27 Jun 14 UTC	I know there are rookies out here, but the point of diplomacy games it to try first to get a solo, then try for a draw and then hopefully survive. But the other primary goal is to stop a solo. Now Sverige, nice that you survived and made a comeback with Norge help and a couple inexcusable nmr's on my part. However, as soon as you saw that norge was close to a solo you should have started working with me to stop him, same for roman empire, when you saw Norge close to soloing you should have lended support. The goal is to try and solo and stop solo's, original diplomacy was not meant for group hugs and a giddy "I am so happy I survived", it is meant to be a fight and then places are to settle where they settle when no more can be done.
27 Jun 14 UTC	I thought you or someone would think way. But first you haven't given me a signal for cooperation. Secondly i don't see the point of a draw to be honest, and i know that i am not alone in diplomacy world with that. I'd rather survive well, draw is more for huggers or care bears. Third, when burgundy wouldn't have been going to NMR in the end there could have been a battle between those 2 where we small could maybe turn. I was looking at a stab of Norge for a while, but didn't find a moment where i would have felt i would still survive. You slavonia played really hard on me and i paid you back, you didn't look like a player that would let me live when i turn into norge...
27 Jun 14 UTC	sverige, a draw is settled upon when no one can do anymore advancements, it is the default, has nothing to do with group hug, and "I am so happy to survive" is the group hug. And yes I would have helped you against norge, THAT IS THE GAME, do stop solos and experienced diplomacy players know that. All you would have had to do was one hold support of any of my units and I would have read that, since I was fully defensive. And btw, don't kid yourself you didn't pay me back, norge did, if it wasn't for him you would have been a memory.

27 Jun 14 UTC	Me & norge did in a very nice cooperation. Norge alone wouldn't have done it either. But that was my problem. I was only living because of his... But also by this last sentence you just show that your pride was hurt badly. I agree you did well in not attacking any other anymore and tried to turn the game again. But YOU were close to victory before, and we did exactly what you suggest against you. How often should we turn against the strongest? Until you win? We we forced to make peace and teame up since you were growing to aggressivly. Roman empire, arab caliphat, burgundy & france were still all focused on each other and you, i didn't see how i could win a solo by turning against norge. Turning into norge would have been my death... you made me too small to come back to the game. And i rather survive than be wiped out. In a WTA game i would have acted differently maybe.
27 Jun 14 UTC	it doesn't matter what kind of game it is, the basic rules still apply. And YES, if I am doing strong you must turn against me to stop the solo, my job is to try and achieve a solo and YES, then we turn on the next closest guy until that "default" draw I told you about is achieved if the solo doesn't happen. that is not a group hug but a good game executed by all players on the board to stop the solo and no one can achieve anything further. That is the intention of the game. Solos should be very very rare and when achieved, highly honored, now norge did well but to me it is not a true solo because you enabled him to solo(along with the massive nmr's, which I was one) without any kind of resistance, just not honorable. If norge wanted to he could have gone through you to get to me.
27 Jun 14 UTC	also my pride isn't hurt, just pissed the solo happened without any resistance, I am pissy about that don't like the game not being played to its intentions, I have been beat up by worse players then you guys.

But you are exactly right. I tried to get out as many points as possible. In diplomacy every victory is achieved only by the stupidity of the opponents. If all would play perfect, there would only be draws/endless games. True this victory was not super difficult maybe, but so be it. There is psychology you have to count in, and if you extinkt me i don't run over to you again especially if you don't give me proper signs. People are no robots. You did as bad as all others did. All of us got what they deserved. I feel I got out the maximum for myself and don't take your blame. I was fighting 2:1 over long time until i had only 3 SC let in the early game. Norge could have crushed me out, but he showed empathie. When you were growing strong you could have offered me peace at one point and grow yourselve a vasall.

BTW: You shouldn't judge me on the statistic you see here, one can have history outside of vdiplomacy ;) He won, you almost won, and i ended with more points as you did. Simple facts that make me sleep well tonight.
27 Jun 14 UTC	you're so full of shit your eyes are brown, no pride problems, I will say again for your thick skull, game was not played as it is intended causing a solo that at the very least should have taken longer to achieve if at all. I never "almost won", math major, wasn't even close. if you are only looking at points, again you don't get the idea of the game. And I will question your experience when you play like you did.
