The silence is ON, so if you need any clarification please PM me.
06 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 2014: GameMaster: British-Columbia voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has.
19 Nov 14 UTC Guaroz (Gamedirector): Another great game!
Please remember that this Round is still ongoing and that you will be allowed to make your comments, whether here on this Global or anywhere else, only when all the 4 games of this Round will be over. You can PM me if you want any clarification.
Thank you!

26 Nov 14 UTC I thought I was really on a roll in 2005. I had tried to be friends with Quebec by supporting him in to Michigan and attacking Heartland. I finally broke through against Florida and was ready to become a major player in this game. Of course that is when Quebec stabs me. Good for him I guess, he ended up doing well. (although a 5 way draw when you are ahead by a lot is not all that much of a victory imo) Gunboat games are frustrating to me...
26 Nov 14 UTC "although a 5 way draw when you are ahead by a lot is not all that much of a victory imo)"
I totally agree! I entered my draw vote when I was not making any progress on all my fronts for years, and now that there was movement again I wanted to take it down again, but it was already too late - Mexico agreed to the draw.
@Mexico, why did you agree to the draw now at this point of the game?
26 Nov 14 UTC same here ... no progress possible without big risk to stuble upon the attempt to stab mexico ... therefor my draw vote.
26 Nov 14 UTC mexico: was there a specific motivation (like need for a build) to take Hawaii when you took it?
no grudge, but i think that was the unit i would have needed to break into quebec by then :)
26 Nov 14 UTC I thought Quebec played very well and his super-aggressive play paid off. I was managing to hold the line against him (although who knows for how long) but then when New York hit me too I quickly folded. I thought it was pure evil the way Quebec immediately thanked New York by stabbing him hard. If New York had taken my side instead of Quebec's it may have been a different game.

Another interesting thing is how Quebec and I were arch-enemies for my entire game on this board but were best friends for the entire game on the other board without even realizing it. That's what makes this game fun.

Thanks for organizing it and running it so well, Guaroz.
26 Nov 14 UTC Congrats to those that survived! I started off well staying peaceful with Florida and focusing on Peru. I felt like I had the upper hand but my downfall was when I chose to back off in the hopes Peru would want to work against Mexico with me. Obviously he didn't want to and my upper hand was gone. But that's the game of diplomacy!
26 Nov 14 UTC I have a bone to pick with Cuba. In Autumn of 2002, my fleet was dislodged and I could have retreated into your wide open Dominican Republic. I decided not to as an olive branch to try and get you to stop attacking me. What happens? The very next turn you attack me!
26 Nov 14 UTC In this case have to give my congratulations to British Columbia for a well executed surprise (?) attack.. I was doomed since autumn 1999. I tried to throw everything at you, hoping that you'd back off seeing that Texas might reap the gains, but you rightly insisted.
26 Nov 14 UTC California: sorry for moving your direction ... geography somewhat suggested to stay peaceful with Quebec, and he soon indicated to be interested in peace ... and you were the only second option i had.
26 Nov 14 UTC British Columbia: non need to apologize.. I can recognize a well-executed attack even when I'm the victim :-)
26 Nov 14 UTC @Quebec.
I decided to put the (last) draw vote because I felt like that was at the highest size I could reach.
I mean, it was clear enough that Peru was going to oppose the majority of the resistance against me. This ultimately could lead to the elimination of Peru, but everything at the advantage of Quebec… absent a stab of mine from British Columbia which was not so unlikely to happen.
I was definitely not in good shape; I think I did the right thing in autumn 2018.

@ B.C.
Yes. I needed that build to survive the attack from Peru in that hard time.
And incidentally I needed that SC so that you could NOT break into Quebec.
2 good reasons to take it, especially the first one.

@ Cuba
We could have done better. Until 2001 when you took my Guatemala I was sincerely convinced that you were going to cooperate with me in order to eliminate Peru. Peru should have been a problem for both of us in the mid game simply for geographical reasons.
01 Dec 14 UTC Guaroz (Gamedirector): Silence is ON.
