28 Jan 18 UTC Unless one of us stabs, Shaw cannot break the line. It is a stalemate. And considering that a stab would guarantee the stabee throws the game to him, that isn't going to happen.
28 Jan 18 UTC Tango protects Sea of Japan
Izumo and Inaba protect Echizen
Omi protects Mino
7 protects 8
Tosa, Kii, and Ise protect Kumano Sea
Bingo and Hyuga protect South Pacific

You cannot break thru.
30 Jan 18 UTC What a waste of time this game was.
30 Jan 18 UTC A map that stalemates with 80% of the players still alive is an oddity, especially how easily the navies are stopped.
30 Jan 18 UTC I think its odd how there are not more sea spaces around the edges of the map so that its harder to stalemate them... armies have a lot more use with the coastline mechanic since the fleets get so bottle necked...
30 Jan 18 UTC constructive feedback is welcome and appreciated.

From other playtests, similar concerns were raised. Accordingly, I am already planning the following for the next revision:

1 - increase coastal areas along the shores of Kumano Sea
2 - create a large northern sea zone connecting South Sea of Japan, Sea of Japan, and North Sea of Japan.

Please advise if you feel that will help address the concerns, or if more is needed.

I would also note that draws have been rare and small on this map thus far. Taking a look at the variant stats, of the thirteen games played, 7 have been solos, and another three were three way draws. This was one of only three games where only one player was eliminated, so I don't think this particular outcome is very indicative of the map.

I will always wonder what might have happened if I had not botched the most critical order at the most critical moment. Oh well...
31 Jan 18 UTC ^^ I am glad your stab did not fully work work out for you xP though I am still confused why Hojo just rolled over to Uesugi... it could have been a much more interesting game if Uesugi didn't become a solo threat while myself more and oda were having issues...
31 Jan 18 UTC Early on, I thought I was gonna get a second runaway solo. But then both end pairs made nice and it took all kinds of negotiating skill with Mori to turn it around.
