11 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 1901: ok, so let me get this straight, we are all going to draw on Spring 1906.
11 Sep 11 UTC Spring, 1901: unless someone magically wins by then, yes...
02 Oct 11 UTC Autumn, 1904: Just a reminder: THIS IS THE LAST TURN; we are going to draw in Spring 1906. Thanks again for playing, everybody -- it was an intriguing experiment in Diplomacy and I had an excellent time playing.
02 Oct 11 UTC Autumn, 1904: This is not the last turn. It's currently 1904.
02 Oct 11 UTC Autumn, 1904: Shit, I completely misread that. When the game was agreed on in the forum, I thought we agreed on 1905.
02 Oct 11 UTC Autumn, 1904: Disregard my last message.
04 Oct 11 UTC Autumn, 1904: This has been an interesting game to say the least... this last year will tell a lot about how people act when they know the end game is approaching...
04 Oct 11 UTC Autumn, 1904: or how people don't act...
04 Oct 11 UTC Autumn, 1904: yea... or don't act...
12 Oct 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: Nice game everyone. After the retreats phase we will be drawing. Thanks again for embarking on this vDiplomacy experiment; hope you had a fun time. I'll set up a thread after the game is over so we can discuss how it went and hopefully lobby for something like this was implemented. Kudos to all! (Taft)
12 Oct 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: Thanks, I enjoyed it greatly! (Sacred)
12 Oct 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: this was a very fun and interesting game. I enjoyed my experience, even though I couldn't get anything going really... Would look forward to seeing a variant possibility for this in the future. Thanks for a great game. (butterhead)
12 Oct 11 UTC Autumn, 1905: I enjoyed this too, though a short timeframe really changes the game, which I'll discuss further in the thread when I have the chance. I think a 10-year option would be more helpful in that it would change the nature of the game less and improve the end of games, which can drag out unnecessarily or end prematurely in a draw sometimes. Having an option to either draw or have a winner determined from the power that has the most centers at the end of the 10 years would be great. I'd like to see this for both the Classic and Modern games, since I believe Modern is the one variant I've played that is as good or better than the original.
13 Oct 11 UTC Uh, it's draw time everyone. *poke* Russia *poke*
