06 May 18 UTC France...that was inexcusable. Congrats Britain, but.... France....
06 May 18 UTC Good game guys, thanks, Japan. I wasn't following the east that much, but why so many fleets? A few armies and you solo or I'm stalemated.

First win here, and vdip seems to be a great place to play. Thanks for the game!
06 May 18 UTC I'm glad you had a great experience here! Still seeking my first victory =)
06 May 18 UTC I mean with 3+ players
06 May 18 UTC Plus Dr. Rec I was attacked on two fronts. Is that a good explanation?
06 May 18 UTC Weill done sarmstro

For perspective on Russia: I ran a few games on this map and got Russia in a couple of them - Russia's position is tough, split in two from the start with three neighbors where others are consolidated. Russia needs to pick up an ally, but that's tough in gunboat. Probably Japan is best, but in one game I tried to work with Japan and he just abused the help, ended up switching to help Britain against Japan in the end.
06 May 18 UTC You can see why they tried the Trans-Siberian railroad device in Colonial - very hard for Russia to cover so much ground.
06 May 18 UTC Welcome sarmstro. I was all fleets because I needed to be able to cover north-south until I had an opportunity to build and convoy armies. As it was, I needed the fleets to hold the coastal ground I’d gained. I’d like a build anywhere option for this variant.
06 May 18 UTC Sky hopper, you kept banging your head against the wall with me even after I made clear signals for peace so you could focus on stopping England. I even backed off at one point, leaving BOR exposed, and watched in disbelief as you fumbled around and kept hitting me in the north. I wondered if the end of three game would reveal a muti-account, because you could barely have made it easier on Britain.
06 May 18 UTC Probably there is a reason Sky Hopper has lost more than 50% of his games.
06 May 18 UTC Well, it may be a matter of inexperience or the like, and that’s perfectly fine. After so many games, it’s easy for me to assume that game situations will be recognized — but gunboat can make that challenging. No worries from me, on to the next game. Or 12.
06 May 18 UTC A well organised draw in gunboat is a thing of beauty, but very hard to organise, especially in a variant.
06 May 18 UTC Eh, harder than press certainly, and harder with mixed-experience players, but I’ve been involved with more that drew than we’re soloed.
06 May 18 UTC For sure - good quality players are the key!
06 May 18 UTC First solo in Canton Dip here... well done!
