16 Apr 20 UTC Autumn, 1904: GameMaster: Germany voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has.
20 Apr 20 UTC Spring, 1905: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
20 Apr 20 UTC Spring, 1905: GameMaster: Someone has taken over Italy replacing "ywl1993". Reconsider your alliances.
30 Apr 20 UTC Congrats all. I should have done a few things differently for that one last supply center. I really admire Austria's game, given the circumstances. I'm curious about what your thoughts were, d.a.barchipelago, through the game.
30 Apr 20 UTC good stuff turkey! glad we got it together in time to defend iberia.

any thought to retreating slightly so we could finish off austria?
30 Apr 20 UTC A draw with 5 and a draw with 4 is pretty much the same to me
30 Apr 20 UTC I like the Austrian raid to St.P. and Marseille. Allways finding a new SC.
But I dont understand why Austria helps Turkey all the time...
GG
30 Apr 20 UTC I took a very drastic strategy, and I think it worked.

When Italy attacks Austria in Gunboat, Austria is usually dead in 04, Italy in 06, so I was surprised and annoyed when Italy attacked me.

I then had two objectives, the first (and more important) being to survive. My second, if possible, was to eliminate Italy.

In order to not die, I had to force a draw. And in order to eliminate Italy, I had to power up Turkey. Luckily, by powering up Turkey I could force a draw.
And if I secured myself a vital spot on the North-Western side of the Stalemate line, like St Pete or Marseille, I would be included in the draw.

And that is what I did.

I would also like to note that I wouldn't have been part of the draw if I had played a conventional 'Turtle' defense, since Turkey would have inevitably beaten me. The end situation would probably be almost exactly the same to this, with a Russian army in StP, and a Russian army on the continent supplied from StP.
30 Apr 20 UTC Thats an understandable reasoning and strategy. WP it works with a little help of a friendly english country ;)
30 Apr 20 UTC Yep, thanks for that?
30 Apr 20 UTC *Yep, thanks for that!
30 Apr 20 UTC Good game everyone. Lots of crazy things happened, I still don't know how I held Warsaw so long LOL. I had to take my chance on Munich, but couldn't handle both England and Germany. Turkey growing so fast clearly saved me, I'm glad we could sign the armistice on time to force the draw.

See you around
