02 Jul 20 UTC | Spring, 1901: (BraveSirRobin): Ollo! |
03 Jul 20 UTC | Spring, 1901: (BraveSirRobin): Hurray we have everyone! |
04 Jul 20 UTC | Spring, 1901: (BraveSirRobin): Everyone will be assigned a country in about an hour, then I encourage you to read up a little bit about the basics of diplomacy online and then talk away! Point: If you don't talk to other players you WILL lose VERY fast. The game is called Diplomacy, and that's 80%. A better knowledge of game mechanics actually often matters less than talking people into and out of things |
04 Jul 20 UTC | Spring, 1901: Is it possible for two countries to support each other against a third? I mean like mechanically with 2 units attacking, not the general idea of an alliance. |
04 Jul 20 UTC | Spring, 1901: Yes, but you have to explicitly use support not having both of you move to the province. (At least that's what it seemed like to me, for how simple the rules are they're written in legalese) |
04 Jul 20 UTC | Spring, 1901: Yes. Two can support each other against a third, but that requires a really great degree of trust and cooperation which isn't necessarily existent at the beginning of the game. |
04 Jul 20 UTC | Spring, 1901: For example, say Germany had an army in Tyrolia and Italy and Austria have units in Venice and Trieste. Germany can "support attack" from Venice to Trieste, or "support attack" from Trieste to Venice. This will displace either Fleet Trieste or Army Venice unless they're supported by Italian or Austrian units adjacent to Venice or Trieste with a "support hold" order |
04 Jul 20 UTC | Spring, 1901: Another seemingly simple thing that can be easily screwed up is fleets convoying armies. Don't forget to instruct the fleet to "convoy Army X to Y" when you do that. |
07 Jul 20 UTC | Autumn, 1901: Hello world! |
09 Jul 20 UTC | Spring, 1903: Should ranch be legalized? |
09 Jul 20 UTC | Spring, 1903: LEGALIZE RANCH! |
09 Jul 20 UTC | Spring, 1903: Ranch has already been legalized in Germany. |
09 Jul 20 UTC | Spring, 1903: Cheers, I'll drink to that bro. |
10 Jul 20 UTC | Spring, 1903: Ladies and gentlemen, I have some bad news. |
10 Jul 20 UTC | Spring, 1903: I did not get the job at fruit loops. |
