21 Sep 20 UTC | Turkey, GG on the survival, man! You lived for so long and I rooted for you the whole time! :D This last round was so surprising for me that I was on +5. I expected +3 at best. @Italy: You played out our war exceedingly well, but the ones around you failed their defenses too fast. Good job nonetheless! @France: The Spring of 1946 was a weird one from you. I still don't understand why you decided you can beat me there. One of these bad choices I guess... |
21 Sep 20 UTC | GG all. I think I fell down when Italy started attacking me around the black sea. That really opend the door to Germany. I tried to encourage England to help me with Turkey but you never took the hint so I had to try and battle Germany, Turkey and Russia alone. |
21 Sep 20 UTC | Yeah, Italy's attack on @USSR was a welcomed one for me. |
21 Sep 20 UTC | *Italy obviously, not Russia! |
21 Sep 20 UTC | @Russia - Tough battle you had with Turkey! ;-) You attacked me. I was hoping we could work together. Thanks Germany. Yeah, I certainly didn't think I'd last through this one! I was wrong-footed from the start. |
21 Sep 20 UTC | Sorry, I didn't pick up on any friendly vibes. You did very well giving me the runaround though. I was a bit poor at eliminating you. |
21 Sep 20 UTC | Around the middle-ish of the game I was not making any progress with ground units on France and Germany to my north. So the only place I saw opportunity was to the east with some ships. So I became fleet-heavy and attacked USSR... I think that was a big factor in how the game ended. Of course it seems like a mistake now, but at that point things were much more even between 4-5 of us in SC's. Second place isn't the goal of the game, but I just couldn't directly compete with Germany's ground power. |
