24 Nov 20 UTC fun times all, these fogs are always interesting!!
24 Nov 20 UTC If only I knew...
Congrats, England.
24 Nov 20 UTC yeh Xildur, you may have had a very hard time gauging where I was until the very end
24 Nov 20 UTC Damn it, so did I.
24 Nov 20 UTC Wow, well done Rancher! And great coop between Austria and Italy. Attacking Turkey proved fatal, wont try that opening again any time soon.
24 Nov 20 UTC I see Austria had Venice and Marseille, no wonder Italy had a hard time seeing the English supernova coming.
24 Nov 20 UTC Russia, your attack towards Turkey killed both of us and was useless. It could be expected I would not just let you do that. Without that we would have beaten both Austria and Italy...
24 Nov 20 UTC Well Captain, in hindsight it was a less than ideal strategy with a flawed execution. My elimination is support that assessment.

But completely useless it was not:
1) I perceived Turkey as the major threat as I expected England to be tied up with Germany and France for the first half. In that regard my strategy succeeded. Turkey posed little to no threat to anybody.
2) The execution of my strategy suffered from mistakes. I shouldn’t have support Turkey into Serbia, and shouldn’t have moved into Galicia or attack Budapest I closed the door on cooperation with Austria because of that.
3) The FoW and gunboat nature of the game limit my ability to see what’s happening and to coordinate with my rivals. Betting on Italy was a really poor decision.
24 Nov 20 UTC I thought that it was Germany bashing against Sev, until I saw pink troops.
:(
24 Nov 20 UTC Autumn 1901 was a misorder on my part—the rest was inevitable
24 Nov 20 UTC Also no idea why I was in Bohemia
25 Nov 20 UTC @Russia : in this game we need all our armies to defend a front or pierce it and to do so you need at least an ally. And often the one who wins is the one who does not have enemy in fact... With this move you made both of us mobilise a precious army on the back of the front and it was useless given you could have expected that I would never let you take Ank or stay there.
25 Nov 20 UTC @CptMike Agree with your premises. Consolidate the units and focus them towards one front while limiting the number of enemies are good principles. I failed at the latter, when I made an enemy out of both you and Austria. Regarding Ankara, Italy was the one to kick me out (Autumn 1904).
25 Nov 20 UTC @christina Just noticed you went to Bohemia. Quite the traveler :) As for your opening id recommend leaving Italy and Pie alone, especially during FoW. Germany and England are usually the major threats for France. You can afford an Italian unit in Pie. But you can't afford a German unit in Bur. And Italy is usually more concerned with Austria and Turkey during the first years.

A good exercise is to go through past games of 1898 and see how different nations behave during the opening.
25 Nov 20 UTC I just noticed that all that gave rancher the solo that turn was the fuckup in tyrolia. ARGH >•<
25 Nov 20 UTC yeh I know it!!
