28 Jul 21 UTC Gg!
28 Jul 21 UTC Congrats Austria.

This game was ruined by the fact that THREE factions went NMR on the first year builds, I've never seen that before and it's why I think we should have cancelled it. I would have lost anyway so my point is it's not exactly conducive to a competitive game is it.
28 Jul 21 UTC Not a big fan of PPSC. Though seems justified when win conditions are set so low (which I also don’t like). In a “normal” Winner Takes All with higher win condition this would have been a 4 way draw for sure.

For me, great battle against Japan, well played. Then nowhere to go and Austria looked very capable of the win. I would never have stabbed India in a regular game because it invites him to throw the game to Austria which more or less happened. But seemed worth the attempt to race to 28. Just came up short. (Apologies to India)
28 Jul 21 UTC I’ve created a new Youngstown Gunboat-4 game with suggested conditions: WTA and 40 SC’s for solo.
28 Jul 21 UTC Correction: Youngstown Gunboat-5
28 Jul 21 UTC Somehow it is 4 after all :D
28 Jul 21 UTC Good game! (sorry for my NMR a couple years back)

China: I'm glad you were aware that I would throw. After Austria tapped cut Turkmenistan and lost me Xinjiang, I tried to throw you Burma and the north as a peace offering so I could put you into Austrian centers to win, but I think it was too late for me to change directions at that point. My only regret was in not more forcefully re-deploying the turn that you stabbed. I should have known that you knew exactly what you were doing with a three-army build. :)

Austria: You handled the stab on Italy really nicely. I was impressed at how you managed to keep a fleet in the Ionian "attacking Africa" for so long, and it worked really well for you. The only thing I was confused by was when you tapped Turkmenistan. You had a good position where you had access to all my easy centers, and China was going to have to work for at least two years to break down Xinjiang and swing the fleets around to get at my home centers. I don't think helping China move faster did you any favors.

Good game everybody!
28 Jul 21 UTC I sometimes wish we could rewind Dip games and try alternate ending. That is: I don’t stab and really just sit on my hands for the rest of the game. Does Austria still get to 28 and win? My call was yes, but would be fun to play it out and see
28 Jul 21 UTC It's an interesting position in W07.

I can see 27 centers, but as long as Turkey and I could lock down a line from Omsk to Egypt, with attacks on Tripolitania and support for an Italian rump state in Morocco and Algeria, I don't think Austria could make it to 28. With the box spaces, I think it's easier to lock MAO down than in classic.
28 Jul 21 UTC yeah i probably could have done more against Austria but I really didn't think I would survive more than a turn the whole game.
28 Jul 21 UTC Box spaces kinda useless. Better to just have normal wrap around
