17 Apr 22 UTC Spring, 1900: GameMaster: Please remember that negotiations before the game begins are not allowed.
19 Apr 22 UTC Spring, 1900: Info: This is a choose your country game.
19 Apr 22 UTC Spring, 1900: Hi everyone! I wish you all good luck and a fun game!

Rather than posting this 6 times privately, I figure I'll just post publicly that I'm hoping to try something new for me this game: Playing with short-term deals with actions occurring within a few turns of one another rather than going for long-term alliances. It seems like a popular way to play in some circles so I am hopeful to get some experience with it and learn a bit more about how playing that way works. (It still won't be the case that I'll drop all strategy for just anything that gets me a +1, though.)

With that said, my clown car seats 6, so I'm open to suggestions from any and all with some good fun at the end!
19 Apr 22 UTC Spring, 1900: doesn't that seem a bit limiting? i'd think that only going for heat-of-the-moment deals would somewhat limit your scope to your immediate neighbors rather than the situation of the theatre at large
19 Apr 22 UTC Spring, 1900: Perhaps to better clarify: I don't intend to just go for everything that gives instant gratification (hence saying I won't drop strategy just for anything that gives me +1 SC). It rather means that I'm trying not to play in such a way where I'm backing one horse from S01 til the game ends.
19 Apr 22 UTC Spring, 1900: A clearer way of describing it may be that I don't plan to permanently back 1 player from game start or permanently be hostile to another player just because I attacked them one turn.

I don't plan to ignore the board at large or be the short-sighted fellow who doesn't look further than whether he's building this year.
20 Apr 22 UTC Spring, 1900: Ah alright, sounds good then
22 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1900: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
23 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1900: Russia are you still with us?
23 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1900: Nope. This user has disappeared in other games too.
23 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1900: Well, here comes a long wait.
23 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1900: Although I am sure someone will join quick enough.
23 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1900: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
23 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1900: GameMaster: M Shadow has taken over Russia replacing "WindowsErrors". Reconsider your alliances.
23 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1900: not a bad map
looking forward to this
24 Apr 22 UTC Spring, 1901: Can someone explain what the Star in Siberia means?
25 Apr 22 UTC Spring, 1901: Yeah I don’t know either
25 Apr 22 UTC Spring, 1901: If a foreign power can take Siberia Russia automatically loses.
25 Apr 22 UTC Spring, 1901: If Russia loses one of his home centers but has control of at least some others, he gains the ability to build in Siberia and gets +1 unit until he gets all of his home centers back. Siberia is never considered a SC.

The variant gives a more detailed description. It is understandably a bit confusing. https://vdiplomacy.com/variants.php?variantID=1900 (It's under the Russian Emergency Measures Rule (EMR))
26 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1901: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
