| Well, maybe not the current president. I appreciate the sentiment though. | |
| Why choose this as our goal? And they may well ask, why climb the highest mountain? Why 35 years ago fly the Atlantic? We choose to go to attempt a 50 player Diplomacy game. We choose to attempt a 50 player Diplomacy game in these 47 days and do the other things not because they are easy, but because they are hard. | |
| Not my president -_- | |

| The US is a republic, not a kingdom. | |
| Yes the USA is a Republic this is basic knowledge I thought, I don’t think that the title is referring to Trump but the president’s position as a whole. If you happen to be from a different country the later statement doesn’t apply. | |
| imma turn this shit into a kingdom | |
| I think the title is channeling the connotations of "long live the king" but kinda misapplied, as the president's lifespan doesn't matter as much as the stability and strength of the administration. In a monarchy the two would be closely tied together. | |
| This is an incorrect conception of non-monarchical government. The health of the ruler always matters as the person of the ruler determines the officeholders, officers, and policies of said government. If an incumbent leader falls ill and/or dies the administration as a whole is affected. If the incumbent dies their administration is ended as it existed solely due to their own person. The difference between monarchy and republic, with regards to our debate, is one of incumbency length. | |
| New game just made. The Europe map in this style is only 20 players so would be a good practice run https://www.vdiplomacy.com/board.php?gameID=66828 |
