I'd be happy with Modern Dip II. Very disappointed Agnaar won't be joining us unless it's gunboat. Slypups too I wish would join us. Who's left that is "in"?

Going off what Mercy said - It's strange to me that a few hundred point difference in starting points makes such a vast difference in ending. I feel like the rating system falls apart on such large maps. I do'nt think many people will argue that a brand new player (1000 points) that manages to solo on Divided States in a WTA deserves to be the top rated player on the site. And yet, it's highly likely that they *would* be either the top rated player, or in the top 3-4. Agnaar gained almost 1500 points, and he was at 1600-ish points when he soloed on Europa Renovatio (a smaller map). Someone at 1000 points would probably gain 2000+ points from a Divided States solo, but how many people would really argue that one game = the best on the site? And yet, we've seen it a few times where one game propels someone to the top basically all on it's own.

Drano, it's even worse than you think. Someone at 1000 points may gain 2200+ points from winning a Divided States game and would end up with more points than Agnaar ever had. Someone at 2000 points may gain less than 1000 points from winning a Divided States game and may not surpass Agnaar. If the variant is large enough, a lower prior rating will mean a higher posterior rating if you win.

Did Agnaar actually say he wouldn't play in the game after all? I didn't notice such a post.

I have 50 games here, all in gunboat mode so I don t deserve to be part of the elite in a full press mode (and it s just too much time consuming for me) but if you want to watch me playing or even better fighting on the same field, i just joined a "divided states", public press, with plenty of room left : gameID=42752.

I'd be happy with Modern II or getting the next interested highest ranked players to plug the gaps in Fantasy World.

as for 10player maps modern2, or youngstown seem fine.

I don't think more people will give their preferences, so have just created the game. I went with majority vote with everything. There is an equal number of players in favor of playing anonymously as playing nonanonymously, and I was hoping someone else would cast a vote so that I would not have made this decision, but alas! I have created the game and it is anonymous. You can hate me now. :P

I saw it before in another game, and thought it meant high level player average... Later, there was a few player replacements and the game lost the star status. Then I wondered how does vdip qualifies a game for a star...

I believe it comes from WebDip code and thus it has something to do with Dpoints (not Vpoints).

This game looks great. I'm very excited to see how the 1st year allies change into 3rd/4th year foes.

Only problem for me is that I don't think I'm a Big Hitter when it comes to gunboat :p (I've always thought it would be interesting if stats distinguished press types - I think my stats would differ hugely between full press and gunboat).

If we're doing gunboat, I think we should go with a variant with lots of neutrals, like Africa (not my favorite variant, but just an example of many neutrals)

Africa is way too unbalanced in gunboat mode: Marocco wins it almost every time.

Agreed with Batalion : gunboat and press are such different games that they should have their own ranking. That s mostly why i didn t participate in the first game : got all my points in gunboat, none in full press.
