What I would have expected is that the "next turn" countdown would reset, and I would've lost a number from my "delays left."
I did see my "delays left" go down by one, to be clear, from 4 to 3 - but the turn still processed with all my units having "held." No message popped up in chat saying "the game has been extended..."
Notably, another country also entirely held a week or two ago - but the trouble is that we're in an anonymous game, so I can't just ask whether it happened to them, or check if their "delays left" counter went down - nor can I bring up this issue now, because I'll give away who I am.
So is there something in the rules I may be missing that might explain this? Let me know if there's any context that could help.
We did have a lack of orders extend the game back in May, further confusing me. Message was:
> Spring, 1995: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
It's totally possible this is also a PEBKAC somehow, but I don't even remember looking at the board yesterday.
The rules for the game are '4 excused NMR / regain after 5 turn(s) / extend the first 3 turn(s)'; it's a ten-player Europe variant.
If this isn't the right spot to ask, my apologies! Thanks!
