Advertise your NON-live games here!
In an effort to compromise the pro-ads versus anti-ads for games: Post here for your non-live games to cut down on the number of ads but still advertise games. Post game link, WTA or PPSC, and the bet. Note: this doesn't count for special rules games.

Hi all, when Amby and I were recording our recent podcast (diplomacygames.com) the topic of Bourse came up, and I got really excited and thought that I would try to get another game of this variant running...

Are the Fog of War games going to start?
BobRoss (1521 D)
Fri 16 Jun UTC
Perhaps it'd be good to start 2 and 3 simultaneously once the shuffling is finished? Also, considering the quick readying of orders, we could perhaps start the later games after a shorter interval? (if everyone else would like that as well, obviously)
The games will be ready once everyone is shuffled into correct nation assignments, as stated. I can't do it myself, seeing as how I'm playing them too. They are in line for attention, shouldn't be much longer. As for starting on a quicker schedule, I'm willing to have them all go at once, but that'll have to be a group decision.
Thank you mouse for updating!

Can i already request an extension? I'll have limited access between 7/24 and 8/2. I'd prefer if only 2-4 games are running by then. After that period though, I don't mind launching all games.
BobRoss (1521 D)
Fri 16 Jun UTC
I'd like to propose that games 2,3 and 4 will be launched simultaneously and then games 5,6 and 7 could be launched like 1.5/2 weeks after. In any case I am very much in favour of having multiple tournament games running at the same time.

Do we still have to pretend we don't know exactly who the remaining players are?
Samj (1363 D)
Sat 17 Jun UTC

In my case, it wouldn't be pretending. I don't have the time or interest in figuring that out. It won't effect each individual game anyway.

Single game left; knowing who's what (and thus who it's counter-productive to draw with, for tournament ranking) can have a marked effect on the game.

It's also an entirely negligible effort to determine, given the known fact of non-repeating nations, and the fact that all 7 other games have public names now - even if it hadn't been apparent from the first game conclusion given the obviousness of the rotation applied.

Hello! I saw a thread like this scrawled on the wall of a Guatemalan insane asylum deep in the jungle primeval. We start with a quote, and you then post the one quote that pops into your mind after you read that quote. The first word is FIRST.

“The key to Springfield has always been Elm Street. The Greeks knew it. The Carthaginians knew it. Now you know it.”

WWII conference room decoration suggestions
I am going to decorate my conference room with a WWII theme. I have a couple of recruiting/propaganda posters and am thinking of putting a big map of the war or a number of individual maps of various theaters basically in their respective areas on a wall. Any suggestions or recommendations on what to buy and where to buy it?

It has come to my attention that quite a few players are unaware of the site rules. If you're a new player, or a vet and you haven't read over the site rules I'd urge you to do so. http://vdiplomacy.net/rules.php#Rules

1900 for vDip: Progress Report (ongoing)
As mentioned in another thread, I've been working on the code and assets necessary to port Baron M. Powell's variant 1900 to vDip and/or webDip.

In order to keep myself accountable in some fashion to actually complete this task, and not just talk about it, I've created a small project plan where I can mark my progress.

New Thread Idea
Does anyone know Polish History? Did The Deluge cause such material damage that it doomed Poland to economic and political death spiral, did it devastate the proto-bourgeois, densely populated Northwest at a key moment within a republic when it was fighting with the rural, agrarian South and East thus stunting an incipient movement towards urbanization and development or did it not really have any long term effect?
