~03 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1901: Am I the only one seeing this? Or is it really on Global? |
~03 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1901: test |
~03 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1901: trying it out |
~03 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1901: What is the function of this anyways? |
~03 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1901: Grey Press can be used to pass messages without revealing who you are. It could be misinformation, or it could be intelligence concerning an ally that needs stabbing from elsewhere. For example, if France wants Russia to attack Germany while France and Germany are allied, an anonymous message containing German orders to Russia would be very useful, and Russia couldn't prove that it was France who sent it, so the alliance would remain strong (until France stabs Germany as well) |
03 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1901: but I know your england as your the only one who was just online :) |
03 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1901: Of course it was. Anonymous messages would be rather more effective in a game with anonymous players, of course, but what if there are four online players? If they sent a message anonymously, they won't admit to sending it. Did the message come from France, in that case, wanting you to attack his 'ally' or from Germany, who has different orders in place, and is testing your trustworthiness? |
03 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1901: I hope they don't use the player's colors when sending anonymous messages. Kind of gives you away totally. |
03 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1901: Received a funny grey press message in a neutral color. Tried responding in kind and received an error message. There is a potential bug in this game? |
03 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1901: If you want to respond, you have to put the recipient name and then a colon. For example (Austria: Message) It needs to be done while on the Grey Press tab though. It won't work if you just message them. Then your color will be shown. |
~04 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1901: pointless grey press messages are pointless... |
~04 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1901: is it working? |
04 Jan 11 UTC | Spring, 1901: Yeah. Kinda pointless. Gotta a good joke you don't want to be associated with, lol? |
