17 Dec 13 UTC | Spring, 1901: So this is where there will be multiple chat boxes for each country |
17 Dec 13 UTC | Spring, 1901: then you enter orders move, support move, hold, support hold Early game you want lots of moves Each dot is an extra army you can place in the board |
17 Dec 13 UTC | Spring, 1901: phases go Spring moves, resolve, retreats, resolve, Fall moves, resolve, retreat, resolve, Builds/disbands, Spring moves, etc So it is important to take the dots in the fall |
17 Dec 13 UTC | Spring, 1901: An important concept that seems silly: You cant support move a holding unit and you cant support hold a moving unit. they will not resolve and it will cause problems |
17 Dec 13 UTC | Spring, 1901: move should be saved as soon as possible but do not "ready" them until you are sure. When all the players are ready the game auto progresses. When the time limit is up the game auto progresses so if you forget to put in moves it is all holds |
17 Dec 13 UTC | Spring, 1901: for now put in a move to Trieste, Tuscany, and Ionian sea |
17 Dec 13 UTC | Autumn, 1901: To help with your planning, imagine that you got info from another ally that I am moving to Venice |
17 Dec 13 UTC | Autumn, 1901: do you trust that? Do you leave Venice unguarded to build there? |
17 Dec 13 UTC | Autumn, 1901: remember two units can not occupy the same spot and the same power moves 1v1, 2v2, etc cause a non-move |
19 Dec 13 UTC | Spring, 1902: getting the hang of it? |
19 Dec 13 UTC | Autumn, 1902: I think so |
19 Dec 13 UTC | Autumn, 1902: What happens if we both try to move to the same location? That's something I've been wondering about. And fleets can build, right? They aren't just used to move land units around? |
20 Dec 13 UTC | Autumn, 1902: 1. The player with more support moves wins. If there is no support moves the units bounce and the country remains unchanged. There is only 1 unit allowed in each country. 2. Fleets are can only interface with countries that are bordering water So greece can not support move budapest to Serbia. Fleets are functional unites that can take territories as Seen in Belgium that can also transport land troops. If there is a north coast/south coast the fleet either resides in the north harbor or the south and cannot move between the two |
20 Dec 13 UTC | Spring, 1903: Why did you support a move to Vienna from Tyrolia and then move Tyrolia to Venice? |
20 Dec 13 UTC | Spring, 1903: I will try to create some move scenarios that will explain some of the finer points of the strategy. So don Concede or get frustrated. I try to do this with new players that join because it can be frustrating to allies when the particulars of the rules are being tried out by rookies on the fly. Next round will be an explanation on cutting support moves |
20 Dec 13 UTC | Autumn, 1903: probably because Vi and Ve are close and it's hard to always tell on this stupid small map lol. Also, I hate losing. And I went into this knowing I would get crushed. So understand that I am going into an MJ-in-his-prime-fuck-the-world state of simmering rage as I continue to learn and plan my bloody vengeance. |
21 Dec 13 UTC | Autumn, 1903: Lol |
21 Dec 13 UTC | Autumn, 1903: If a unit is moved at a country giving a support move then it cuts their support that is why I moved at all of your units. Each unit has to tend to its defense. Before supporting another |
23 Dec 13 UTC | Just looking at this you clearly win. I have no way to mount a viable counter attack and you can squeeze me in the east and in Venice. Can I just concede? Also, this map is hard to read with these MS Paint arrows and small countries lol. |
23 Dec 13 UTC | Oh never mind you already won. |
