13 Nov 15 UTC | Spring, 1862: (bugzduck): I had to join just because of the name xD |
13 Nov 15 UTC | Spring, 1862: (pyrhos): me too but I like the variant as well. Except that France shouldn't exist, by the year 1862 Mexico was an independent nation |
13 Nov 15 UTC | Spring, 1862: (bugzduck): hmm maybe ask the mods to update it ? |
13 Nov 15 UTC | Spring, 1862: (bugzduck): or lower the year abit |
13 Nov 15 UTC | Spring, 1862: (The Ambassador): Don't forget this variant is a bit of an alternative history one. So figuratively speaking if the French appointed emperor of Mexico did a better job he could've kept going longer and maybe expanded the empire. Which is what this game puts into play. And I love the name too. Sounds like something you'd get in a side order at a west Texas BBQ joint. |
13 Nov 15 UTC | Spring, 1862: (bugzduck): EXACTLY |
14 Nov 15 UTC | Spring, 1862: (Argotitan): Pyrhos: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_intervention_in_Mexico |
14 Nov 15 UTC | Spring, 1862: (Argotitan): The French withdrawal took place after the Civil War once America could enforce the Monroe Doctrine. |
14 Nov 15 UTC | Spring, 1862: (Argotitan): Anyway, thanks for giving props to the name. :-P |
14 Nov 15 UTC | Spring, 1862: (pyrhos): Oh I didn't know that thanks for sharing |
14 Nov 15 UTC | Spring, 1862: Hi Everyone. I love fries:) Have a good game fellows |
14 Nov 15 UTC | Spring, 1862: Hi again Have never played this variant before and I have a question. Should I treat the notional SC:s in my own territory (the ones with a orange square around them) as neutral, ie that when I conquer them I get a build? |
14 Nov 15 UTC | Spring, 1862: Yes they are neutral. |
14 Nov 15 UTC | Spring, 1862: Thanks |
14 Nov 15 UTC | Spring, 1862: you're welcome |
25 Nov 15 UTC | Autumn, 1865: extend for thanksgiving? |
25 Nov 15 UTC | Autumn, 1865: GameMaster: United States voted for a Extend. If 2/3 of the active players vote Extend the the current phase will be extend by 4 days. Please consider backing this. If the majority is not reached by "Autumn, 1866" the votes will be cleared. |
26 Nov 15 UTC | Autumn, 1865: I mean the game doesn't take long to play per day. We don't really need to. |
26 Nov 15 UTC | Autumn, 1865: I'm happy to put in an extend after this turn ticks over. |
26 Nov 15 UTC | Autumn, 1865: Its for thanksgiving weeked I'm busy |
