31 Jan 16 UTC | Spring, 1901: Good luck! |
31 Jan 16 UTC | Autumn, 1901: Thanks, good luck to you. This is my first game on this site. |
31 Jan 16 UTC | Autumn, 1901: Ooh. Exciting! This is only my third. Have you played Diplomacy much before? |
31 Jan 16 UTC | Autumn, 1902: Yes, but mainly the classic game. I'm surprised by the number of variants on this site |
31 Jan 16 UTC | Autumn, 1902: This site is all about Variants. It's the variant sister site to a classic diplomacy site called Web Diplomacy. If you want, you can find classic games, with a great community over there. |
31 Jan 16 UTC | Autumn, 1902: Yes, I've been playing at WebDiplomacy for a few years, it's a great site, and it was players there talking about V Diplomacy that made me look here |
31 Jan 16 UTC | Autumn, 1902: Ah. Nice. Interested to know who you are once we finish this. |
31 Jan 16 UTC | Spring, 1903: Likewise. I don't mind the quick moves we've had so far, it's Sunday in my timezone, but I picked this game because it can be slow when either of us have other things to attend to, but quicker when it suits us. |
31 Jan 16 UTC | Spring, 1903: Yeah, I'm enjoying that aspect. |
31 Jan 16 UTC | Autumn, 1903: I think you'll win this, you've got Tunis and St Petersburg |
31 Jan 16 UTC | Autumn, 1903: ...not that I'll give up just yet |
31 Jan 16 UTC | Autumn, 1903: Yeah. That was my plan. Rush to Tunis and Mos, hold the line. |
01 Feb 16 UTC | Autumn, 1904: I've just realised Turkey has to play a "juggernaut" opening move Fleet Ankara has to get to Ionian same move English fleet fro English Channel gets to Western Mediterranean |
01 Feb 16 UTC | Spring, 1905: Yeah. I agree. I looked up the statistics. England wins more that Turkey does. |
02 Feb 16 UTC | Spring, 1905: I was thinking that, and how could this variant be improved, perhaps England's fleets should start in Norwegian Sea and North Sea ? |
02 Feb 16 UTC | Maybe. Or Nwg and Eng? I chose this 2 player game since it had the closest stats between the two countries. |
02 Feb 16 UTC | Why'd you disband your fleet in Ion? |
02 Feb 16 UTC | If you've given up, you might just hit the concede vote. That way we don't have to play this through. |
02 Feb 16 UTC | GameMaster: Turkey voted for a Concede. If everyone (but one) votes Concede the game will end and the player _not_ voting Conceede will get all the points. Everybody else will get a defeat. |
02 Feb 16 UTC | Thanks for the game it's tricky for Turkey with the fleet strategy even if you try fleet to Con, if you go to Aegan you miss a build, whereas England from English Channel or Irish Sea / Nth Atlantic can go to Spain then to Western Mediterranean & Tunis Autumn 02. So if Turkey plays fleet to Constantinople then for a sc it's Bulgaria south Coast closet to Tunis, but your are one step behind in race to Tunis |
