23 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1901: Hi Devonian. We can start now, tell me when you want to pause or whatever for some reason. I'd be happy to.
23 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1901: I can play until tomorrow afternoon. Good luck.
23 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1901: Do you want me to comment on the moves or just play it out?
23 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1901: Commenting would be nice. Something short, not too long if you don't have the time. Just let me know if they are what they should be on this map - after the turn is up.

Although, you could tell me what the basic strategy of France and Austria would be at the beginning.
23 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1901: One big difference in 1v1 is that you need to go after the opponent and not necessarily the neutrals. Secondly, you need to always know where you will get 3 SC's, and if you can't get 3 how do you keep the opponent from getting 3.
23 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1901: The main battles in this variant will be for Munich & Berlin. And the secondary battles will be the Baltic and Mediterranean.
23 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1901: We will likely bounce in Munich in this first year. That is usually best for both of us.
23 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1901: Okay. I see your point in this.
23 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1901: GameMaster: France voted for a Pause. If everyone votes Pause the game stop and wait till everybody votes Unpause. Please consider backing this.
23 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1901: Sorry about not taking the turn yet. Let me know when you're ready to I pause.
28 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 1901: GameMaster: France voted for a Pause. If everyone votes Pause the game stop and wait till everybody votes Unpause. Please consider backing this.
28 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: The move to Venice is a very comon opening, and sometimes I open that way also. But, I prefer moving to Albania and have the army in Budapest move to Venice, mainly because the fleet cannot threaten Marseilles, but an army could. But, if France opens to Piedmont, Austria would have had a big advantage in year one.
28 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: Also, the army moving to Bulgaria is not the best way to attack France directly. It would have been best to go to Warsaw, or at least Sevastopl to head toward St. Petersburg.
28 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: Oh. That makes sense.
28 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: Now I am pressuring you in several spots, but you cant put any pressure on me. This is key in 1v1 play.
01 Dec 16 UTC Autumn, 1904: I think I've lost this. What mistakes have I made in the past year?
01 Dec 16 UTC Autumn, 1904: You were in a difficult position. But, I think the only think would have been to move Venice to Apulia instead of to Adriatic in the spring. That would have put pressure on Naples.

Overall, the main thing you needed to do is take the fight directly at me, not to the neutrals.
02 Dec 16 UTC Hm. That sounds about right. Mind if I concede then?
02 Dec 16 UTC That's up to you.
02 Dec 16 UTC I shall concede. Would you mind picking another map to play on? Also would you mind making it unranked since it's just for learning purposes? Thanks Devonian, I appreciate it very much.
