25 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1901: GameMaster: Please remember that negotiations before the game begins are not allowed.
25 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1901: (Dr. Recommended ): Well, if 1 + 1 doesn't equal MadMarx....
I didn't realize that when I joined, but as a mod I can see your email :)
How are you sir? Brian here from webDip and Bend. How's the family?
25 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1901: (TheMadHungarian): Well I'll be damned!! :-)

Hanging on by the skin of my teeth, but life wouldn't be interesting any other way! How are you and the family?!
25 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1901: (Dr. Recommended ): We're all good. Daughter is about to head off to OSU, I've still got two terms left myself, and it can't end soon enough. Been busier than I'd like, not getting out a lot this summer - though I have had much better hiking results in the past couple of years, no aborted trips except a couple of weeks ago when we had to get out ahead of the fire near Sisters.
25 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1901: (Dr. Recommended ): I'm terrible at 1v1 by the way, and don't play often enough to learn from my mistakes!
26 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1901: (TheMadHungarian): Bridger has a speech delay but since turning three in May he's making a lot of progress, pretty exciting! Tiffany was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease this winter, which explains her fatigue/etc., but it's a tricky thing to figure out so we're struggling through that. No time for press games, but I have free moments here and there throughout most days (though not all days), figured I'd try 1vs1 and see if I like it, which I do so far, especially since games can finish in a matter of days rather than months, it's nice to get some closure...

If you change your mind about the games, feel free to cancel one or both, it's all good, just for fun! :-)
26 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1901: (Dr. Recommended ): Oh, I'll gladly take my beatings and the occasional good showing ;)

Sorry to hear about the Lyme disease. A good friend in MA has it as well. Did she contract it here, or while traveling? Is the speech delay something that is likely to impact him long-term, or affect his learning? Happy to hear he is progressing. Either of those things can really add weight to the load of living, for sure.
26 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1901: (TheMadHungarian): You're screwing with my head, I see you ranked in that ladder tournament, I'm on to you!! :-P

No idea when/where the Lyme came about, the fatigue is why we waiting for over 19'uears of marriage before having a kid, it started showing up a few years into our marriage and steadily got worse... A specialist from Dornbecher said Bridger may never be fluent, which we're not sure what that means, and nobody knows the future, but he's smart as a whip, knows well over 500 signs (we watch Signing Times videos frequently) by now so we can communicate fairly effectively, the way he's improving lately I'm hopeful he'll be mostly caught up by kindergarten but we'll just take things as they come... The stinker still isn't sleeping through the night, typically wakes up at least five times every night, I have a twin mattress on the floor of his bedroom so Tiffany can try to get decent rest in "her room", good thing I started drinking Bulletproof Coffee shortly after he was born! If I can get two 3 hour stretches of sleep in one night I get pretty excited, happens maybe once a month... Good times! :-)
26 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1901: Info: This is a choose your country game.
26 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1901: Regarding the ladder tournament, I joined awhile back figuring it would be good to play more 1v1 and get better at it. Did poorly, got busy, stopped playing but didn't withdraw in case players wanted to challenge me. It's happened once :)
Most of the players I'm ahead of joined after me and just haven't passed me yet!

Between my own infant-toddler days and many years working overnight shifts, I'm all to familiar with the special hell that long-term lack of sleep can produce, especially when it's your loved ones that unwillingly put you in that position. I'm sorry you have this challenge, one foot in front of the other and hang in there. I'm also glad you're here and doing something you enjoy, these little things make a difference. I don't know a lot about Lyme and its management, I hope diagnosis (after so many years!) will lead to improvements.
26 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1902: Lyme is tricky, lots of trial and error, and typically you have to go backwards a bit before you go forward, but we're thankful to finally know what we're up against and to be moving in the right direction... Lots of light at the end of the tunnel, it's just a matter of time, and luckily we have lots of family in town that helps out!
26 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1902: That's good to hear, I'm sure it makes a bit difference.
26 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1902: Hey, should we just cancel the crashed game and have you join this one?:

26 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1902: Joined. Got so much clutter on the home page that I hadn't yet noticed the crash!

Good move on Munich, I took a risk and paid for it.
26 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1902: It's often a crap shoot, sometimes it goes well, sometimes not so much...
26 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1903: Well done. I'll play it out if that's OK with you.
26 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1903: Of course, there's always hope!
26 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1903: Well, sometimes less hope than other times... There's always something to learn! ;-)
26 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1904: Indeed.
27 Aug 17 UTC Do you know what happens with crashed games? Can it simply be canceled? I'd email the mods, but...
