Autumn, 1901: how do you find this site? |

Autumn, 1901: I think I saw and article on the game risk... looked it up on wikipedia. From there read about webdiplomacy.net from there came here. |

Spring, 1902: I'm very new to the game(s) though. |

Spring, 1902: been playing the game long? |

Spring, 1902: *ninja'd |

Spring, 1902: you've got your head around the orders. Most people who have just started find the order/support thing difficult (In my Experience.) |

Autumn, 1902: I'm catching on. Still have plenty to learn. |

Autumn, 1902: so, why play the variants? as opposed to standard? |
21 Aug 11 UTC |
Autumn, 1902: More interesting. In my view. |

Autumn, 1902: You got me there. I figured you would be moving to Venice. |

Spring, 1903: I agree. Where are you from? |

Spring, 1903: lucky guess. |

Spring, 1903: *actually the move to Budapest cut any potential support you could have given Trieste. In a variant like this grab any SCs you can from your opponent. guaranteed grabs are better than guessing... but then sometimes a random guess will win you the game |

Autumn, 1903: It's also about getting to 18 before the other player does. |

Autumn, 1904: The good thing is, as you play more, the better you get. You'll find that *most* players here are quite supportive, provided you don't inexplicably disappear mid-game, or fall to the temptation (you'd be surprised how many players do) of creating another waldo-account. |

Autumn, 1904: That move to Bohemia was good - you've broken my 'bubble' of defense. |
21 Aug 11 UTC |
Spring, 1905: I'm not really dedicated enough to do any of that. |

That's ok, the occasional game and you'll gradually get to know some of the players, and how they strategise. also you'll develop some of your own 'tricks' to play on them. but ultimately it's a game of diplomacy. Convincing other players to trust you, and to do that you have to start to trust other players (I found this very hard to do when I began) |
