02 Jan 18 UTC Autumn, 1574: GameMaster: Someone has taken over Shimazu replacing "Eli VanRoekel". Reconsider your alliances.
11 Jan 18 UTC Hmm someone didn’t have draw set last phase. I was very tempted to try for that very rare beast, a gunboat 2 way. But the position in the south was too congested. I’m curious, xildur, would you have been up for that without stabbing?
11 Jan 18 UTC My first time with this variant. Seems to beat oda you need full trust early in the corners. But you need one power weaker to leave 3 vs 1. Otherwise I suspect the corners find it hard to keep a 4 way alliance going. I’d still prefer not to be Oda though. Such an early target

Thanks for the game everyone.
11 Jan 18 UTC Oh. And the first year was completely clownish. I entered wrong orders and bounced myself. While I think both souterhn powers didn’t realise you have to support to dislodge a neutral army. That made the beginning rather bizarre!

12 Jan 18 UTC Thanks for the game.
I have put my Draw vote couple seasons ago, so it may be Heywood was the last voter.

I was indeed thinking to stab you a year ago, Grahamso1.
However, I decided against it since I would get only 1 SC for my stab, while Mori has opportunity to sweep me off if I entangled too much with you.
After all, you have been good ally so far and I ought not to mess with that without good chance of Solo.
12 Jan 18 UTC Once I was Oda.
But that game ended with 5-way Draw since I made deadlock with all other power.
Nobody willing to betray their allies since I could overwhelm them and I was sweating bullet since it just need one lousy mistake to break the barricade that I build in both end.

Very bad ending, but that was my first time on this map, so I just thought that it just a tester.
12 Jan 18 UTC Another thought on the variant. Sea power is absolutely key. That was Odas mistake here. At least on my side of the island. It was easy to convoy into anywhere once I established my fleets. The sea territories cover so much area

12 Jan 18 UTC Thanks for the game - first time on this variant for me too - I realized that sea power was the key a little too late. Had fun and thought you two were going to were going to do the two way on me and tried to figure out how quickly I could bottle things up. Once it seemed you two were staying allied and coming right through me, I voted the draw just this last turn
