07 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 1999: Jason has opted out of this game but in his honor we have created two dummy accounts they are respectively New York and Florida. Let get some consensus on how we want these accounts to be used or not. |
07 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 1999: Suggestion 1: I could run them independently and impartially as a separate player, without preference. Suggestion 2: I could make initial moves and subsequent defensive moves so they don't get swept over by the surrounding powers too easily. |
07 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 1999: Suggestion 3: Alliances are declared and "teams" alternate their use from one year to the next. |
07 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 1999: disband them |
07 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 1999: in order to disband them we'd have to let them go dormant and then someone would have to take them over. obvioiusly that gives the territories closer to them a distinct advantage. |
07 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 1999: Another option is to make them a no-fly zone. No-one is allowed to take any of those territories and they just sit there. But that makes it difficult for the midwest quebec texas and cuba who may have naturally looked there for expansion. |
07 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 1999: I think the two people with the lowest amount of centers should control them |
07 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 1999: since we are all the same at the start, no one gets to control them |
07 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 1999: Who hasn't won a game? Colin, Austin? How about we give each of you an additional territory to manage? Kind of a handicapping system. |
07 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 1999: i'm good with that |
07 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 1999: so am I |
07 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 1999: I like the disband idea |
07 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 1999: disbanding is not an option, so here is what I'm thinking. I'll make the initial moves to seize the close territories that they would normally grab. I'll do the builds and then go into defensive hold mode for those. At the end of the 3rd year the person with the fewest units will get control of the account farthest from them. At the end of the 4th year the next lowest person will get control of the remaining account. |
09 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 2002: California and Peru have declined the use of an additional account so British Columbia and Heartland would be the next recipient. So will it be Florida or New York? |
09 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 2002: Since we don't want one player to have a hugely unfair advantage the remaining account will stay in defensive hold mode only. |
09 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 2002: I won't unpause until the account has been handed over. |
12 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 2002: I'll take New York |
12 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 2002: Control of New York has been handed to the Alaska/Heartland alliance. |
12 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 2002: Control of New York has been handed to the Alaska/Heartland alliance. |
13 Sep 11 UTC | Spring, 2004: Control of Florida has been handed over to the Alaska/Heartland/NewYork alliance. |
