03 Oct 11 UTC | Autumn, 1904: Damn, no zot. |
04 Oct 11 UTC | Autumn, 1904: :) |
05 Oct 11 UTC | Spring, 1907: This is what I call "grinding towards St. Petersburg". The game is essentially decided by 1907 but it takes till 1912 to actually win it. |
05 Oct 11 UTC | Spring, 1907: http://vdiplomacy.com/board.php?gameID=3711 wanna join in the fun? |
05 Oct 11 UTC | Spring, 1907: Yep, I see what you mean. You will win this. But I still think that: 1) this is an exceptional case: 2) games should end just after 1909 or the Danish/Swiss will be endless and players could be bored to death waiting for 1 Match to end to go on with the next Rounds 3) a draw is a good result for France anyway. A player able to do this is able to win with Austria against the same player. So, considering only the FvA set, you can make 4-0 against weak/normal players and 3-1 against the strongest ones. Looks good & fair, no? |
05 Oct 11 UTC | Spring, 1907: Uh, no thanks I'm a bit busy these days. Try EGAT once. It's great! In a couple of weeks I want to start up a EA vs GT team game. Would you be in? |
05 Oct 11 UTC | Spring, 1907: 1) No. I have had this multiple times already. This is a book line in my analysis. 2) Not really. As Austria it is often easy to win at 1906, but the characteristic of France is that it tends to get slow wins no matter the opponent's skill level (unless a novice). 3) Not really. My analysis shows that France should win more than Austria. |
05 Oct 11 UTC | Spring, 1907: mmm if one side can't win before 1909 we should use a different map. |
05 Oct 11 UTC | Spring, 1907: Also, you're at this point only for my big mistake in Autumn 1902 when I didn't take Bur. It made no sense supporting Mun. |
05 Oct 11 UTC | Autumn, 1907: Well not really. I have a guess between keeping Bur or Ruh open, and i tell u none of my opponents have ever tried Burgundy. |
05 Oct 11 UTC | Autumn, 1907: Novices. And I've played this game like one of them :( |
05 Oct 11 UTC | Autumn, 1908: Coloring time :p |
06 Oct 11 UTC | Autumn, 1910: Please notice that I always finalize my orders when I log in. This makes this game really fast :P Perfect in a tournament! :D If this situation is not an exception, then we should really discard this map. I want to make some test on FGvRT. |
06 Oct 11 UTC | Spring, 1911: Have you ever seen a France win quickly? |
06 Oct 11 UTC | Spring, 1911: "mmm if one side can't win before 1909 we should use a different map." Sorry if I quote myself but what you are saying is the exact reason why this map shouldn't be used in a Tournament. BTW, the answer is: "yes, one time. Austria surrendered after France got into Ion & Nwy gameID=3288 spring 1905" |
06 Oct 11 UTC | Spring, 1912: You're very strong at this map, Gobble. Thanks for the lesson. This game has been very funny... until 1902! :P |
07 Oct 11 UTC | Spring, 1912: And as I have predicted, this game ends in 1912. |
07 Oct 11 UTC | Spring, 1912: Duo or Lepanto for Game 7? |
07 Oct 11 UTC | Duo. Do you mind if I start it Monday? I'm leaving for the weekend, my best friend marries and I am the witness. I don't know if there's WiFi in the hotel and even if there is it I'll be very busy... |
07 Oct 11 UTC | Okay, just set up the game when you are ready. |
