22 Feb 19 UTC Spring, 1901: GameMaster: Please remember that negotiations before the game begins are not allowed.
22 Feb 19 UTC Spring, 1901: Info: This is a choose your country game.
22 Feb 19 UTC Spring, 1901: Should I head for the Baltic Sea or Sweden?
22 Feb 19 UTC Spring, 1901: I see you're new to Vdip, what's the story?
23 Feb 19 UTC Autumn, 1901: One of the guys in class at my college was playing it, and I like reading books about old military strat so I had to give it a try

25 Feb 19 UTC Spring, 1902: Unfortunately I missed my orders for F01. Let's see if I can pull it around
25 Feb 19 UTC Spring, 1903: The reason your support for Silesia didn't work is that Berlin doesn't border Warsaw. You supported my unit to attack yours.
25 Feb 19 UTC Spring, 1903: That sounds like the exact opposite of what I was trying to do lol. Still trying to figure out the UI.
25 Feb 19 UTC Autumn, 1903: Yeah you have to be careful with support move to and from. To being the target country and From being your unit (or an allies' unit) to attack.
25 Feb 19 UTC Spring, 1904: The big way you could have put me on my back foot this game was to move Denmark to Sweden. I NMRed so that would have given you great position. Even if I moved, you would have bounced me.
25 Feb 19 UTC Spring, 1904: I'd recommend you listen to the Diplomacy Games podcast with CaptainMeme. He's one of the top 1v1 players on the site and he really explains the strategy well.
25 Feb 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: I'll definitely check that out... I love playing risk-type games so after I get the general tactics down this seems like it's got a lot of potential.
25 Feb 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: The tactics are definitely important but 1v1 is very different than a classic 7 player game. I love both types but 1v1 is an entirely different strategy.
25 Feb 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: Like have you noticed my fleet in the Med. I skipped Constantinople and Ankara because the tempo of Smyrna and Greece is higher. I can get to Tunis this fall and Spain in fall 05.
25 Feb 19 UTC Spring, 1905: I'm down for a rematch if you want to do France vs Austria. That's traditionally thought of as more balanced than G vs R. Quite hard for Germany to hold the center when Russia gets 4 units to start.
25 Feb 19 UTC Spring, 1905: Sure, I'm down. Just need to reread the strategy guide first. It seems like this game is a good bit about attrition.
25 Feb 19 UTC I looked for a G vs R openings guide and didn't see one. Russia can make so many lanes it's hard to fill all of them.
25 Feb 19 UTC I'll make a FvA game, call it Weird Western Front and I have a few links that might be helpful.
