29 May 20 UTC | Spring, 1300: (Gamer Nerd): Hello again |
29 May 20 UTC | Spring, 1300: (The Duke): Greetings! |
29 May 20 UTC | Spring, 1300: (DocSloppy): Hi! Gamer Nerd, I'm sorry I didn't stick with our alliance. I definitely think we could have been more productive if we stuck together, but like I said, I'd been burned before when relying too heavily on my neighbors. Let's see how this game goes. |
29 May 20 UTC | Spring, 1300: (The Duke): To be fair, DocSloppy/Aragon also betrayed me! I thought we had a nonaggression pact going in the early game until you stole LAN from me. lol Honestly, there was one turn where I was basically beset by three enemies: England, Burgundy and Aragon. I just got lucky that Castile tried to invade Scotland and Aragon attacked Castile. Opened up a window for my to crush Burgundy and kick the English out of France. |
29 May 20 UTC | Spring, 1300: (Gamer Nerd): This map isn't the most balanced obviously, although that is the point. Burgundy can't survive unless the French player is very kind. |
29 May 20 UTC | Spring, 1300: (Behk): Yea, forcing me to divert naval forces gave France an opening and I was unable to exploit the inroads I had made in France. Almost the entirety of my military was fleets (wonderful advantage of an island) so full invasion wasn't a danger but it would have been a nuisance that dragged me down. And balance... yea poor Burgundy. Requires a France with less experience and some pretty extraordinary negotiating to survive. |
29 May 20 UTC | Spring, 1300: Burgundy can do it if they ally with England and/or Aragon. I looked at some of the other games being played on this map and was surprised to see how often Burgundy outlasted France. |
29 May 20 UTC | Spring, 1300: But yeah, it's a challenge. |
01 Jun 20 UTC | Spring, 1302: Did not know I could build anywhere. |
01 Jun 20 UTC | Spring, 1302: On this mal |
01 Jun 20 UTC | Spring, 1302: Map* |
02 Jun 20 UTC | Spring, 1302: England exists on a nearly unassailable home base of power. You are backing the wrong side by helping them gain a strong foothold on the continent. You'll never be able to take the cost or England from them. |
07 Jun 20 UTC | Autumn, 1304: Invade me with conviction or move onto other targets. 4v1 is getting pretty old. |
10 Jun 20 UTC | Autumn, 1306: Good luck to whoever ends up winning, though I'm assuming you'll just all vote draw. I'd say it was fun, but it was thoroughly unpleasant from start to finish. |
10 Jun 20 UTC | Autumn, 1306: Well fought, France. Sorry you ended up being ganged up on. |
11 Jun 20 UTC | Are you three playing as a team to draw? |
11 Jun 20 UTC | I think it'll have to be a 4 way draw unless there is betrayal among the lesser nations because we don't have the naval power/access to take on Great Britain. |
11 Jun 20 UTC | GameMaster: Aragon voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has. |
12 Jun 20 UTC | Pretty sure I can hold everything but Normandy indefinitely. |
12 Jun 20 UTC | Kind lame to draw 4 ways on a 5 player map, but so be it. |
