17 Feb 21 UTC Spring, 1888: GameMaster: Someone has taken over Austria replacing "Chris McEwan". Reconsider your alliances.
01 Mar 21 UTC Autumn, 1891: GameMaster: Someone has taken over Holland replacing "Telly Vision". Reconsider your alliances.
01 Mar 21 UTC Autumn, 1891: GameMaster: Holland voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has.
18 Apr 21 UTC well played everyone, some fantastic tactical battles in that game.
18 Apr 21 UTC Whew. I was a turn away from throwing to Germany. Gg everyone.

Russia, why did you absolutely insist on fighting me the whole game. All I ever wanted to do was take Tehran so I could have the extra units to fight the Italian, and made it abundantly clear I didn't want to fight you.

And then in the end game, I made it very clear I wasn't interested in cutting you, yet you take Anatolia anyways - which was fine I guess....but then you keep attacking me? Why. That loses the game.

Germany - why not eliminate China? It could've been done safely.

China - I understand on one level why you pushed me out of India, but doing so was extremely close to signing your own death warrant, had Japan made the right moves.

Japan - you realize you could've had Australia if you put an army down there, right? Ditto with India if you had taken Calcutta with an army.
18 Apr 21 UTC Congratulations to everybody for a great game. I hope other players enjoyed it as much as I did. Germany starts with units in four different parts of the globe and that kept me very much involved almost everywhere. Even when I abandoned New Guinea I managed to set up home in Borneo until the collapse came. I've concluded that I made 4 major errors. Firstly Germany grew too fast too early. It's a difficult balancing act but perhaps it's better to keep a low profile and then expand. Secondly I blew the chance to take Morocco first time around. I had a plan and should have stuck to it. The battles with France and Austria around north Africa and Spain gave me sleepless nights lol!
The other two mistakes were much more serious and were simultaneous so compounded their effects. Perhaps they cost me the game. After securing west Africa I advanced across the Indian Ocean and entered the east Indian sea area. My intention was to support Holland against Japan but Holland wasn't to know that and, understandably, kicked me out. This opened the door to Japan which was soon all over the east Indies and Australia. At the same time I tried to reorganise my fleets around the Gulf of Aden. Unfortunately for me Turkey attacked and seized Mombasa which put the Dar es Salaam dockyards and barracks out of action. I think I could have recovered from either blow but having them both come together was fatal. There was one other crisis which proved costly. Early on Russia managed to get into Saxony. This meant that I had to use my army in Burgundy to support Munich. Munich was saved and the crisis was averted but Austria walked into Marseilles instead of a standoff. That Austrian army in Marseilles together with my failure to take Morocco led to stalemate in Western Europe. So I take away some lessons. A great game and thanks to all involved.
18 Apr 21 UTC Gg Germany - you played excellently I thought.

Maybe your one mistake (instead of what you said it was) was not attacking me in 1893-ish, while I had my hands full with Russia. Because locking down Dar es Salaam was my priority right after I finished off Italy (excellent fight, Italy btw. Without help I would've lost for sure...but then again you had significant help from Russia, so we're even there haha)
18 Apr 21 UTC Good Game Guys.
18 Apr 21 UTC Good point Turkey. I should have attacked when I had the chance but decided to wait and not risk opening another front. You seemed to have a very defensive posture so rather than attacking I tried to tidy things up elsewhere. Trouble is you caught me on the hop. Carpe diem.
18 Apr 21 UTC Sorry Turkey, I didn't mean to over-react to Tehran. I was too focused on berating myself for completely missing England's cues to take Sweden, Germany supporting Norway.
18 Apr 21 UTC I've been pretty bad at taking cues this whole game
18 Apr 21 UTC I must confess I've spent about 3 minutes looking at the map per turn, so I apologize to both England and Turkey for the pain I must have caused. I will stand by my Fall 1902 stab on Turkey since I needed a more defensible position, however.
18 Apr 21 UTC I would like to mention that I wish China had seen me try to make up with them, since when they attacked I had to disband my indefensible Eastern holdings, bringing about the Japanese explosion
18 Apr 21 UTC I'm pretty satisfied with this game. I entered the game a bit later and Austria was with 6 center, while everyone around me were with at least double the count. I've oriented correctly and almost managed to get a breakthrough in Russia with the help of Turkey, but Germany and Japan took our targets and the first kicked me out personally. However I managed to get the rest of my fronts to a safe point, until, for some reason, in the spring of 1905, France decided to back of from the German front, which was a huge WTF on my part and I was on my way to destroy France when we drawed. That's why I took Greece (sorry, @Turkey). So I can build an additional fleet in Sicily and took over the African coast and set up new defenses in the region against Germany.
I wasn't mad for Morocco, just very confused. :d
18 Apr 21 UTC Germany, btw, I should say - you did outstanding! I barely managed to squeeze in Spain, before you completely overwhelmed Britain in the region.
It's very rare for someone to blocks me at a 100% so quickly and you did just that :d
19 Apr 21 UTC Also new Austria thanks for helping with Rumania :)
19 Apr 21 UTC That was a fun late-game blitz of Turkey
