19 Jul 21 UTC Spring, 1903: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
15 Aug 21 UTC Hi there guys. GG.
I thought I had the chance for a SOLO but honestly I was not that happy with that. I would be betraying a very good ally.
Do know this is part of Dip games, Even more in gunboat games that has no conversations, but do not like this too much.
Congratulations to Austria that managed not just to survive but to be a good power.
15 Aug 21 UTC Appreciate that england I would have been disappointed to not get something here. We kept North Sea as a DMZ for so long - when either of us could have stabbed the other to be honest - crossed my mind a couple of times but I too get more satisfaction from an alliance well done).

At the end I simply couldn’t tell what was happening in the south. Germany has good visibility in foggy so I felt good until near the end. I took a gamble and started to move a little north early (support for Denmark) although I changed my mind twice. I was leaning more and more to protecting and then the build in Brest confirmed it.
15 Aug 21 UTC What confused me most was that fleet in Armenia and Black Sea. Surely they could be used better elsewhere and I wasn’t very threatening. If Austria sees England in the Adriatic (!) time to back off from me. But all well that ends well.
15 Aug 21 UTC (Rather pleased with all time high ranking for me - but about to lose that with some other less successful games about to finish - but I’ll enjoy for now)
15 Aug 21 UTC Gg to everyone. I must say very confused why this didn't end in an English solo, because when I died I was 99% sure that was going to be the result. This is a WTA gunboat game....you shouldn't really feel connections to allies in this.

Two things really stumped me this game (besides finding out England didn't punish Germany's play with a solo).

Italy, I get moved on you, but if you were getting beaten back by Austria, why did you attack me after I pulled back? Far too early in the game to retreat to a stalemate line. That really was a key reason why I lost MAO and then my whole position.

Germany - why tap Marseille in 1908? I know it only hastened the inevitable for me, but you didn't get anything out of it. Attacking France and getting just one SC to show for it....typically doesn't end well for Germany. You could probably guess England had broken into the Med, and had vision of Austria taking Venice and with a fleet in Apulia...meaning Italy was weak. A typical England would just use the three builds you gifted them to attack you and win the game.
15 Aug 21 UTC *Italy, I get I moved on you,....
15 Aug 21 UTC Some people do enjoy a well plated game long alliance. England and myself being the case it seems. I was to some extent relying on the fact I could have stabbed England myself much earlier when I was much stronger but chose not to.
I don’t recall tapping Mar and the logic. I think it was probably to help England and that again buys some loyalty (sometimes!). Sometimes vague useless supports mean a lot less than helping someone gain an SC. But remember 2/3rds of way through the game I had great visibility but by the end I could not see who was winning out of Austria and England. But last few moves I moved to be protective and I am not sure England could have easily soloed. stp is at risk, Munich is moving to Ruhr to support and so on. Would not have been simple. (I’ve said before I wish we could draw then play out the end game for laughs. Would be a nice feature.
15 Aug 21 UTC StP doesn't really matter though, since it's guaranteed to be retaken by England.

No, had England taken Belgium in the spring and flipped Norway to Sweden and Sweden to Baltic, as well as kicking Piedmont back to Marseilles, I think England would've gone +1 this year (loses StP. Gains Belgium and Denmark). And from there it's just mathematics. England doesn't even need Berlin or Munich. So there's quite literally no line you could've held.
15 Aug 21 UTC I really appreciate a good alliance in Dip game, Germany (Grahamso1). It was better to get a draw keeping this alliance instead of a solo
15 Aug 21 UTC Gg guys
