14 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 654: GameMaster: Scotland voted for a Extend. If 2/3 of the active players vote Extend the the current phase will be extend by 4 days. Please consider backing this. If the majority is not reached by "Autumn, 655" the votes will be cleared.

01 May 22 UTC Spring, 659: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.

22 May 22 UTC GG Anglia, I almost squeaked in against the tide a couple of years ago but ultimately hadn't built enough armies.
This map is incredibly tricksy, also I've never seen such a chaotic start as Cornubia was over in East Anglia.
In the other games Anglia tends to dominate - well done everyone for putting up such an effort and well done Anglia for converting.
22 May 22 UTC GG Ireland (and everyone else as well). The endgame was very close, but as you noted, the lack of armies was critical. After I was able to dislodge and disband a few of the enemy armies on the continent, the tactical situation was favorable. Only needed one more thing to go right to win from there.

In the early game (specifically Autumn 653 and Spring 654), I was hoping Cornubia would accept an implicit alliance against Mercia/Ireland/Wales, even after the initial friction over Portsmouth. Cornubia could have taken the southwest parts of Mercia and build fleets to take out Ireland and Wales, while I went north. Obviously that didn't work out! Instead, my midgame was a tough battle against Cornubia. I think I made some good tactical moves to come out ahead.

I liked this map; it felt more open than the standard one (I've only played it once before, and in that game I played Cornubia and allied with Anglia). The openness of the map seemed to me like it led to a lot of interesting tactical maneuvers, at least in my corner. The south center of the map takes a lot of units to defend against infiltration.

Playing Anglia had similarities like playing Turkey, but with a more vulnerable homeland; fitting that the endgame was against Ireland, which feels a lot like England.
22 May 22 UTC GG East Anglia. Question: Why does Ireland lose the most points?
22 May 22 UTC I lived for a long time, great success
22 May 22 UTC I just lost the most points because of a higher rating to begin with - winner takes all is just that :)
23 May 22 UTC Good game all
23 May 22 UTC Good game anglia and Ireland

Anglia, nice your expelling me from your lands. It was fun raiding your interior while I had the chance
