23 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: (~ Diplomat ~): No ones talking?
Well Good game to all!
23 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: (Jonnikhan): Absolutely. It's just too early and the game isn't full yet. I just hope I'm not Austria yet again....
26 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: Of course I'm austria...
26 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: Oh, I'm E :)
So, my goal for year one would be getting Norway, you mind Russia? For the rest I'll see... Would like to have Bel but guess that's bit too much to ask...
26 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: Why ARE U TALKING!
26 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: What? It's part of the game...
26 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: Chiter Chatter, we need something to occupy ourselves
26 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: Ok England, I won't contest Norway, but Sweden is mine, naturally. Austria and Turkey, whoever guarantees me Rumania gets my support in your struggle.
26 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: Italy you want to DmZ Trieste and Venice?
26 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: holland is mine plz....
26 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: i'd like it more if we each just kept a dude there and supported hold each other. You should support Russia into Rumania in the fall, Austria.
26 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: kk
27 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: That means well for our relationship, dear Austria.
27 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: France here wondering how deals are made that can be trusted in a winner-takes-all game. Italy giving Austria tactical advice sounds laughable. Oh yeah, Austria, you can trust Italy and Russia. They both have your best interests at heart.
27 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: France: Since there's no private messaging there is no indication of Russia and I working together. Russia offered support to whoever helped him into Rumania so that means either Austria or Turkey. From Italy's perspective, a juggernaut is the worst possible thing, and it just so happens that it's even worse of Austria. If it's in both of our best interests to stop a juggernaut, and Russia get's a supply center and possible alliance with Austria out of it, it's in all three of our best interests. You need allies in diplomacy, and you generally don't want certain alliances to form based on your country. It just so happens that Austria giving Russia Rumania is in my best interest, even though it's not immediately in my sphere of influence. It's not to say that Austria should make himself a pawn for either Russia or myself, but just because one of us throws out a good idea doesn't mean he should distrust it. Perhaps he should look at the ramifications of the support, to make sure he knows of any possible ulterior motives Russia and I might have, but sometimes a good idea is simply a good idea.
27 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: In general I agree with you, Italy. However, in a Winner-takes-all scenario there isn't a juggernaut that would survive. Stabbing is guaranteed, it's just a matter of when. An arrangement of mutual convenience is the best you can hope for, knowing it will fall apart at the first opportunity. Turkey hasn't even shown up yet.

One good thing, I must say, is that I have a good idea in which direction you'll be heading.
27 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: Just because the juggernaut won't last throughout the game doesn't mean it doesn't have it's merit. Regardless of the game type, a quick removal of Austria (and maybe Italy depending on how proactive the west is) means that Germany France and England (Italy too if it's survived) will have a relatively harder time winning due to the increased power in the East.
27 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: Though in this game, where Turkey hasn't even entered orders or spoken one word, the likelihood of a successful early game juggernaut doesn't seem possible or even a good idea. Long term, I agree, the juggernaut physically can't win in WTA, and i doubt a good one can be successfully be constructed now unless Turkey does some really good and sneaky diplomacy, but my original statement that Austria should support Russia into Rumania still stands.
27 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: I am here!
Dont worry!
AUSTRIA AND RUSSIA ALLIANCE?
27 Jan 12 UTC Spring, 1901: Good points again. With public messaging only it'll be hard for Turkey to accomplish sneaky diplomacy, just as it is for everyone else. By the way, do you want to do some sneaky diplomacy?
