28 Feb 23 UTC Spring, 1740: (Avocado): FYI, a lot of countries start with fewer units then supply centers, after the start of the game, they will act as normal sc but just do t start with a unit
28 Feb 23 UTC Spring, 1740: (Ethan14): Aight
28 Feb 23 UTC Spring, 1740: (rrrr77): yeah that's a balancing thing. Reminder that you should always read variant rules
28 Feb 23 UTC Spring, 1740: (rrrr77): I played this game for the dover qualifiers, it's an interesting dynamic
28 Feb 23 UTC Spring, 1740: (Avocado): It looks really fun
28 Feb 23 UTC Spring, 1740: (Avocado): Also does Spain control Sicily and Naples because the rules don’t say they do but it is the correct color?
28 Feb 23 UTC Spring, 1740: (rrrr77): They do indeed, however they almost always lose it.

Piedmont is kinda dumb here, it's not defensible if France decides so and the army in SAR is incredibly weak
28 Feb 23 UTC Spring, 1740: (Avocado): And yet statistics say that they are the best
28 Feb 23 UTC Spring, 1740: (rrrr77): Right, they key part is France, if France allys with spain piedmont is dead, which was my point on it being vulnerable.

However its unlikely cause of England, so while conflict between Spain and Piedmont is very likely, France may not attack so Piedmont gets a grip on Italy, which is almost any diplomacy map is a powerful posistion to be in.
01 Mar 23 UTC Spring, 1740: (Avocado): But I think overall, this map is pretty balanced
01 Mar 23 UTC Spring, 1740: Why do they not have the kingdom of the two Sicily's? Should have been its own country, that would have been cooler. Also I think Prussia actually owns Silesia at this time
01 Mar 23 UTC Spring, 1740: The Kingdom of Two Sicilies would not be founded for nearly 80 years from now
01 Mar 23 UTC Spring, 1740: That region was in fact under the control of Spain during this time frame
01 Mar 23 UTC Spring, 1740: Oops, got my timeframe off, I’m usually better about that
01 Mar 23 UTC Spring, 1740: Most diplomacy maps are historically accurate, that's basically the entire jist of diplomacy mape creation

I highly encourage you guys take a brief look at the dover qualifers on this map. I persornally was France and was screwed from the beginning when England attacked me(let this be a lesson, some wars can lead to stalemates and screw both party's over while everyone else gets strong. If it's not a lopsided conflict, it's a bad idea). And yes im salty about that, the stalemate cost me the game.
02 Mar 23 UTC Autumn, 1740: also note that spain is our best player, while Russia and Ottomans did something we call juggernauting, normally this is fine, however they did it again in the championship, which puts a lot of evidence against them metagaming. Also Austria went AFK
02 Mar 23 UTC Autumn, 1740: Why bother giving spain naples and Sicily if they physically can’t stop people from taking them
02 Mar 23 UTC Autumn, 1740: Deals, you make deals
02 Mar 23 UTC Autumn, 1740: Also historical accuracy
