18 Jul 23 UTC Spring, 1904: GameMaster: Russia voted for a Concede. If everyone (but one) votes concede the game will end and the player _not_ voting Concede will get all the points. Everybody else will get a defeat.
26 Jul 23 UTC Gg everyone, well played Italy
26 Jul 23 UTC GG fun game all!
26 Jul 23 UTC I was trying to follow this: https://tiggy0077.tripod.com/johnsdiplom/id18.html; of course I immediately messed up the spring 01 moves and sent both armies north. The plan was always to stab Austria but I was hoping to convoy to Gre with Turkish support. Ended up with me repeatedly lying to Austria about Gre and wasting quite a bit of tempo on bounces - I'm quite lucky France went north in 02 or I would've lost Tunis!

Russia - What was the plan with the opening to Silesia and northern fleet build? Honestly curious. It created such chaos that I ran unchecked through the Balkans and the west never resolved so I'm fully in support of your actions, I just don't understand them.

France - Appreciate the longstanding DMZ in the western Med. I was concerned in 01 with the fleet in Spain (and Tunis unclaimed), in 02 when we both built fleets, and in 03 when you could've disbanded the Scottish fleet and built in Mar - but the DMZ held. A build in the south in W03 and a peace agreement with the English would have been devastating after I just stabbed Turkey. Even as late as 05 when I convoyed to Syr, I was quite worried your fleets would head south rather than north. Really have to thank Russia for making a mess in the west.

England - I think I only got 9 messages from you all game. That said, you played your part perfectly. If F/G win the naval war quickly, I don't get nearly as far as I did.

Germany - The fleet build in 05 really told me I could actually pull off a solo this game. I had 14 and you were the obvious next target. An army in Mun would have seriously delayed my tempo moving north to the point where I think I could've been stopped. I was expecting the fleets to come back to retake Berlin in F06/S07 but I think it was too late to stop the solo at that point (I probably would have had to kill Turkey though).

Why did you want to eliminate people from the survives at the end of the game? I wrote it off as map painting but does it have an impact on the points scored? I don't think so but then I don't know the formula.

Austria - Sorry for the immediate stab followed by additional lying about Gre. Had to happen once I opened north and the Gre moves kept Turkey on side just long enough. Hope you draw a better nation next game!

Turkey - What was going on with the diplo between you and Russia? Not taking BLA in F01 but moving to Arm in S02 is rather baffling to me. When I saw you build 2 armies in 02, I was pretty certain I could pull off the stab. I certainly appreciated that you went all armies to make our alliance work but I also just don't believe IT functions as an alliance. Turkey is always at my back and expanding through Russia is just much slower than stabbing Italy. When I had the opportunity to get to AEG, Gre, and Ser I knew I had to go for it.

1 dot stabs generally suck, but the position was too strong. You definitely got me on the defensive guesses (not holding Smy when I went to Syr, taking Gre, bouncing Con, etc) but it's not possible to hold with 1 fleet especially when Italy has equal armies. I really appreciate your mercenary work at the end. It 100% secured the solo and was crucial to making it happen in 07. I might have been able to solo the game with more French centers had you not helped, but you really pushed it over the edge. I admire the flexibility of still doing diplo while occupying 0 of your home centers.
26 Jul 23 UTC Sorry, I’m not reading all of that even to celebrate your victory, it’s a bit much
26 Jul 23 UTC Sorry it's too long, was just trying to leave a message for everybody
26 Jul 23 UTC Yeah, my plan was to try to rush England and then immediately turn around and fight you, I just didn’t have the time
26 Jul 23 UTC Honestly I put the timing on Russia. England was in Moscow and Russia was in Berlin/Silesia in 1903. If Russia decides to suicide his troops against you, there's only so much you can do
26 Jul 23 UTC Italy, In hindsight I should have gone south. Not sure you would have lost Tunis in '02 if I had. You would have had to choose between bouncing with me and Tunis or taking Greece. I think you might have picked the bounce. I also don't think I could have disbanded the Scottish fleet without then losing either Belgium or Brest.

I did have a feeling it was you, cjuric, so I was worried about the stab the whole time! While you did come after me at the end, I don't think that really counts as a stab; so this is the first game I've played with you where you haven't stabbed me!!!

I made some small tactical errors in moving faster against England, and Germany allying with them for about 2 turns got me really worried. I hoped to be able to hold my own against them, but I could not have done that and also gone south, which is why I didn't. I was hoping Turkey would fall a bit slower than they did, so I'd have enough time to get through England and turn around to defend against Italy.

I think my biggest blunder was not working better with either Germany or England to convince them Italy was by far the biggest threat on the board, and that we needed to get our act together to stop them from soloing. I think the way Russia and Turkey went down hindered coalescence in the West.
26 Jul 23 UTC Flipster, I should have known! I've had some people say it's obviously me because I do the little arrow symbols to describe moves; maybe I should change it up for anon games. Then the semicolons might give it away, oh well.

Sorry about those other classic games, we just keep drawing neighbor countries. France vs England I'll take the blame for that stab. England vs Russia when you open to the north? I'm not the only instigator :) Colonial Dip alliance is chugging along nicely, I think we have that game sewn up! Funny enough England here is Turkey in that game.

Agree that it would've been hard to turn around in your position. 04 when I stabbed Turkey left me very open in the west. But England attacked MAO and supported Hol -> Bel, you can't go south with that threat behind you.
