03 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1740: Oh man, turn out it's my nightmare
03 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1740: His majesty Philip V sends his cordial greetings to the rulers of Europe!

(Good luck everyone, let’s have a good game. I won’t be able to make real press until this evening)
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: Well the first big stab of the war is there for all to see.

Trust Austria at your peril

Prussia now declares WAR on Austria and welcomes any allies.
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: LFG!
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: Austria: That all sounds good. I'm also hoping that Russia will look for Scandinavian expansion path that allows them to overlook us for now. The French seems dead set against Bavaria, which I can't say I'm too upset about, hopefully after they get some SCs in Germany they'll then remember their vulnerable west coast
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: Austria: I haven't asked you to help against Bavaria, which I can handle on my own.
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: Fine, I wanted to have a civil conflict (heh), but if you're going to do this, here goes:

Prussia: Support me into Pinsk please.
Austria: Wed 09 PM You're attacking Russia? I'd be happy to help. However, I'd also hope for getting something, and it seems that if you had Pinsk I might be left with nothing from Russia. What do you think?
Alternatively, I can support you into Pinsk, and not contest Russian territory with you, but then perhaps we can come into an adjusted border arrangement in our west?
Prussia: Wed 09 PM Sure, what would you like?
Austria: 06:00 AM Saxony, and Silesia mine permanently.
Also this turn in the west, could you bump Cas to cut its support?
Prussia: 11:25 AM So that leaves me with nothing
You have Russia then
Austria: 11:37 AM No you misunderstand, my plan is for me supporting you to Pinsk and leaving Russia to you.
Prussia: 11:57 AM Im not interested in Russia if I lose Saxony and Silesia
So you have Russia and I will take Silesia as agreed and keep Saxony
Austria: 12:25 PM I'm not interested in attacking Russia myself either. Fine, if Saxony and Silesia are too much to ask for, what are you willing to offer?
Prussia: 03:27 PM Im confused when I wanted one Russian SC you wanted something in return you wanted 2 of mine.
So when I wish to keep my 2 SC you suddenly dont want Russian SCs
So why did you want 2 of my SC if you dont want any Russian SC's?
Are we allied or not?
Why do I have to give up anything for our alliance to take an SC from an enemy, unless of course they are not the enemy.
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: I don't see how you could have expected anything other than this after turning down in such a hostile manner a reasonable offer from a supposed ally. After you said this, I or anyone else in my position would have had very good reason to believe you'll decide to switch the intended target of your attack.

And anyways, its just a stab, happens every game, get over yourself. You forced this through your strange hostility, suddenly demanding me join your attack against Russia, in return I get nothing. Great deal, great "ally".
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: I apologize to all that Prussia is doing this in global
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: I have to admit I find sharing private messages verbatim in global chat to be a bit distasteful - not really in the spirit of the game. And a good stab here and there is really the whole point of the game. I let my emotions get the better of me sometimes too, so no judgement, but let’s chalk it up to high spirits and try to keep things civil.
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: Since when is there rules on what you decide to message anyone.

If you are embarrassed by what you write, then don't write it.
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: There are no rules of course, it’s just something that I find personally distasteful, along with personal insults and the like.
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: As you can read, I smelt the lie.

It's my own fault I didn't act on it.
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: Austria: Since my Lublin army isn't doing much else anyways, I'll leave the support move to Pinsk from Warsaw up. You can think about what I'm saying, and I'm happy to continue this discussion in Autumn when there is more time.
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: Prussia: You would take Kiev and Moscow whilst I take Pinsk and StP

But we can talk more in Autumn

I will attack Cas for you
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: As you can read I kept my word.
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: Well, another thing to consider is the message you’re sending to the rest of the board. Now everyone knows that if they rub you the wrong way, you might retaliate by sharing private messages with everyone else. Hard to fully trust someone like that with genuine information and plans. That genie’s out of the bottle now, but it’s something to consider in other games going forward.
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: Im not angry. Its the game. In fact I laughed at having been fooled by what I was suspecting was an obvious liar. It's the game.

The public press is so the rest of you don't get fooled by his long winded and smooth talking messages.

Because of course I want the back stabber dead
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: Absolutely I might, so don't say you are my Ally when it is a lie.
09 Nov 23 UTC Spring, 1741: You can share my press, I have no lies to hide
