08 Mar 12 UTC | Spring, 1065: Okay, so just let me get a handle on everything going on here.....I can't see the whole map. Am I not supposed to see the whole map? Where are the Norwegian and Norman home centers Also, Harold Godwinson died....I don't want the same fate to befall me |
08 Mar 12 UTC | Spring, 1065: well basically its fog of war so you only see around your units and territories, also each neutral has a standing army so you must support yourself in |
08 Mar 12 UTC | Spring, 1065: lol, its one of the reasons why I like the map. Each of your scs and units can see the territories bordering it but the rest of the map draws a blank. Given that this is your first game here is some advice: 1. Armed neutrals, you need to support yourself into a neutral supply center to take it. 2. HW has a norwegian army in it (but isn't a sc, unless norway gets a build he will have to disband a unit). On top of that HW is considered an inland, not coastal territory. Fleets can't move in. 3. England is the hardest of the 3 countries to play as: http://vdiplomacy.net/stats.php?variantID=55 |
08 Mar 12 UTC | Spring, 1065: Alright, well that info about the neutrals is good to know, thank you very much. |
08 Mar 12 UTC | Spring, 1065: this should be interesting for me as well, I usually play gunboat on this map |
08 Mar 12 UTC | Spring, 1065: I do to, but I thought no talking would give goldfinger a huge disadvantage in the probably chance that he was unaware of the special rules (such as armed neutrals) |
08 Mar 12 UTC | Spring, 1065: Yeah, thank you for not doing gunboat. In general, my skills are much....weaker...in gunboat situations haha |
08 Mar 12 UTC | Spring, 1065: its weird, on webdip I suck at full press and have won 40% of my gunboats while here I seem to be better at full press... I guess what helps me here is the small community, so I generally have better understanding of my allies and enemies cause I have played with them more frequently. |
08 Mar 12 UTC | Spring, 1065: finalize soon? (sorry if I sound impatient, lol, don't want to rush you, but you'd be surprised how quickly a 3 player game can go) |
08 Mar 12 UTC | Spring, 1065: Oh I'm sorry! I can't see whether you all have finalized or not! |
08 Mar 12 UTC | Spring, 1065: right above the player names it says what each country has done. |
08 Mar 12 UTC | Spring, 1065: So at the moment 2 people have finalized one has saved |
13 Mar 12 UTC | Autumn, 1070: were all online, anyone want some temporary semi-live action? |
13 Mar 12 UTC | Autumn, 1070: might as well :D |
13 Mar 12 UTC | Autumn, 1070: you here goldfinger? |
14 Mar 12 UTC | Autumn, 1070: ack, yep I'm here now, if you all are. |
14 Mar 12 UTC | Autumn, 1070: Well now that was not very nice of you there, my good Norman friend. |
14 Mar 12 UTC | Autumn, 1070: Can I claim a misorder? (even though it required 4 units to do what I did? |
14 Mar 12 UTC | Spring, 1071: Oh really? Well in that case my apologies for the accusation. Please, just convoy them all out and we'll be fine! /end sarcasm |
14 Mar 12 UTC | Spring, 1071: How about I move to GLD and London instead, would that be more appealing to your tastes :P |
