| 31 Mar 12 UTC | Autumn, 1905: Ok what happened in Vie is what I call a "zot". When you dislodge a enemy unit and it has nowhere to retreat, you "zotted" it. You forced disband. It's an important tactical tool, esp. in 1v1. Even if you can rebuild it (and now you can because you didn't lose any SC) it'll be far away from where the action is: basically it is like if Vie was retreating to Ber! There are several cases in which you can't even rebuild it. Say you are focused on getting 2 SCs to gain 2 builds for your 2 open HomeSCs. Now say you got the 2 builds but I zotted a unit of yours on a sea or on a non-SC land. You should build 3 but... you can't because you only have 2 open HSCs! When you zot an enemy unit you usually got a good positional advantage and sometimes a material advantage. So be careful: look for zots and... always check if you could be zotted. If so, provide an escape for your unit. Feel free to ask on this, if I wasn't clear. |
