05 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 4: GameMaster: This user was banned: Auto. The time until the next phase has been extended from 1 days, 3 hours to 2 days (one full phase) so you can find a new player to take his place if you want to. Make sure to finalize your orders if you don't want to wait, so the game isn't held up unnecessarily. |
05 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 4: lolwut |
05 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 4: So whose multi was Carthage? |
08 Apr 11 UTC | Spring, 5: Rome, if you try to win this game you're no less ridiculous than the meta-gamers. I won't put any more orders in this game but hold on. |
08 Apr 11 UTC | Spring, 5: Egypt please don't be so harsh. |
08 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 5: That's just sickening. When we found out there was multiaccounting afoot an agreement was made to eliminate the suspected multiaccounters and draw. If we had known you were going to do this, we would have cancelled. In fact, I'm voting to draw and cancel now. |
08 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 5: We never got and answer who was multiaccounting with Carthage. I played fair and square here and I didnt brake any rule. Deals are made and braked all the time in diplomacy. I do not care about points. Idea of making this game interesting again was too strong to resist, and was only reason for braking the agreement Greece mentioned :) P.S. I think Cancel is better option because game was not valid so should not be enlisted as official game. |
08 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 5: I don't want to cancel this 'game' (I don't even want to call this a game!) because I want to see who's Persia and tell him a few sweet words. I play Diplomacy to enjoy myself, and I frankly can't understand the fun of winning a 'game' only because two cheaters spent the whole 'game' fighting against me instead of playing for their own good. We agreed right from the first turns that we'd have drawn the 'game' after the meta-gamers would have been discovered. I consider you no better than the meta-gamers themselves if you take advantage from the situation or if you enjoy winning in this way. |
08 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 5: 1. That is true, we never did find out which other players were involved. So now that Carthage, the only known cheat, has been eliminated, the draw pact should probably remain with four (exception: see below). 2. It is true that you broke no rules, but I think it's nonetheless patently unsportsmanlike to do this in this particular circumstance. Obviously stabbing is just well and dandy in most games, but once the game becomes 'cheaters vs. non-cheaters' I think that the game has become tainted and that the only sportsmanlike thing to do is eliminate the cheaters and immediately draw (exception: see below). 3. [exception] I actually tend to agree that cancelling this game is the more correct thing to do; I proposed a draw pact because I figured that the non-cheaters should be rewarded for expending the effort to play a game with cheaters, to the tune of a higher split of the pot than that which they input. That said, if a cancel is acceptable to all parties involved, then I prefer a cancel to a draw. |
08 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 5: Oh, actually, I forgot about that. I'd prefer a draw as well so we can see who everyone is. If we'll all state names now then a cancel is my preference. President Eden here. |
08 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 5: I have seen 'games' like that, and every time Oli gave a kind of second chance to the meta-gamers, banning only one of the two players. since it's 100% clear to me that Persia is the other cheater, I don't want to give him the draw. no way. I think Rome didn't by any means deserve the victory as the game was completely spoiled. and if he breaks the deal, he doesn't break a Diplomacy deal in a game, he breaks a pact between gentlemen players. after a few turns (a few hours in fact) it was clear that this was not a game to win but a game to discover the cheaters and then end up the game. Tadar Es Darden |
08 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 5: I play only because I love this game. I dont play for win or points. I prefer to cancel this game. My name is Dejan. I heard about President Eden from webdip, and I played with Tadar few games so he might remember me. |
08 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 5: ...well that is my real name...my dip name is Dejan0707 (I added numbers because my name was already used by someone). |
08 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 5: as I said, I won't cancel the game nor draw before Persia is defeated. Rome, I hope you'll understand the situation. |
08 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 5: I will accept that your argument were more correct than mine and do the right thing, I will hold still and wait for the game to end. |
08 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 5: Alright, here goes, then. |
08 Apr 11 UTC | Autumn, 5: Also... that serves to explain a couple things. Some good company in here. |
09 Apr 11 UTC | Spring, 6: I am holding all units except those who will attack city of Leptis Magna. |
